I ordered with a lefty leather sheath & red liner under the green micarta (no liner) prior to shipping I receive a notice stating out of stock on a lefty leather would kydex be fine,Sound good...no problem there but when I seen other Bushcraft blades people purchased looked great, even the left overs from blade looked great, the finish is ok,it is a user but I wanted to knock the luster off of the blade not receive it looking used, there is a 1/2" scratch from the spine to the bevel that you can hang your finger nail in...I do have the Dan Koster Survivor ordered and paid for I hope it is better,I love the design of the bushcraft blade and would not mind a second one but was alittle disappointed in the 1st. impression after viewing other on the W&SS...it does have a great razor edge...Wow! I still am very glad I picked up a DK Bushcraft and it will be a fantastic user...
Dan & I worked an Excellent deal and the 3V bushie is fantastic,10-3-08 OK Dan Koster did a Excellent job on the new Bushcraft Green scales with Red liners looks Great and Thank you for the gift for my son,he is enjoying his Bushie as well !I got the knife late last night ,it was sitting at the PO box so I will post pics later...just wanted to say Thank you Dan !

Well it looks sweet. Sorry your dissapointed. Go beat the tar out of it in the woods for a while and I think that should solve your problem.

Thats weird...I think Dan usually does pretty good by everyone. That being said...you should send it to me...I like used knives! Gene

well it is a user blade....but from the pics I seen..everybody's bushcraft blade looked great....finish wise ..I love the design and it will be a great user blade just disapointed in the overall finish of it...I will use it this weekend for sure...

When he gets back from his trip, you should let him know through
his forum and post these pics so he can see them.
I'm sure he'd be interested in seeing the condition of the knife.

Contact Dan, he's a standup guy, and will do his best to make you happy.

Andy

No question Dan is a great guy or I would not have ordered a second blade from him.....my issue is not worth complaining to Dan about, the knife is a great design and the handle fits like a glove in my hand like I said I would buy a second bushcraft from him in a second....just my 1st impression looks like a used blade & I am the original owner of this blade, straight from the box these are the pics of it.... I will use the Bushcraft tomorrow while fishing....:thumbup:Break her in properly,my way !!

Dan is a great guy. The decent thing to do would have been to contact him directly instead of complaining about the blade in a post for all to read. Did it dawn on you that it may have been damaged during shipping? The post office damages things and re-boxes them all the time.

So me posting this is not Decent???( I am not a trouble maker) I am GLAD I have the Bushcraft blade but was disapointed in the finish that is all...I posted in the makers forum to where Daniel can see it as well....What is there to hide...I have full respect for Dan Koster and I am not Bashing him,I have a small minor complaint on the Finish ... not a big deal, not asking nor do I want a refund or a replacement...It is a user ,I was looking for comparsion pics and info from other who Own a DK Bushcraft...I am also a repeat customer of Dan's... Sorry if I offend you some how ....

I don't see the problem. TTD is saying that he was disappointed, he wasn't firing bullets at Dan... He got the knife as it is.... BTW, you must have some tough postal worker in your neck.....

I have several Koster blades and am an avid poster over on his forum, he would not have an issu eat all with Tony's postings, because Tony is being fair and honest and even saying he he would buy another, I do not call that complaining, I call that costructive criticism!!! I beleive Tony is using this forum for its intended purpose. just my .02!!

Man, mine came flawless, im sorry dude..... You are right though, he makes a great knife!

I also understand youre not bashin him, just showin off a new blade, and voicin a concern. You dont seem too upset bout it, so enjoy the blade bro!!

As others have said, I'd just contact dan when he gets back. I saw some of the blemishes that were around from his fairly rushed first production run. There's a difference between as-forged finishes and what you've got, somethings not right.

..Not upset at all Bro ,it is a user and will be well used, hell my 10year old son wants one as well, just wait until he sees the survivor I have on order/PIF ....guess I will pick up a second Bushcraft for my son,he loves the design as well.....

TexasTony I was in Tom Kreins shop Wednesday morning visiting. I handled almost every knife in there. Dan was there as well and they gave me the VIP tour. I hope you didnt get the knife I tested out my skills on the 2x72 belt sander on.:eek: Just Kidding Tony:thumbup:

Yeah, usually because people don't know how to pack a box.

Tony I'd wait for Dans reply. IMHO there is no reason you should have got a knife like that. I know he has been busy but that is no excuse. If he is rushing stuff to meet deadlines the outcome will not be good. I'd rather wait longer to get a good knife than one that was rushed.
