Daaaaaaaang, Steel Will @ Shot show 2017 straight killing it, best in show IMO!

Any evidence that they're made by Viper? I thought Viper was stuck in a D2/N690co phase? Kind of like Lionsteel is in a Sleipner phase :(

My Viper Italo in M390 would disagree. ;) They seem to have stepped up to that steel on quite a few models.

M390 in a sub $200 package? I'm all for it.
Same.

I've also been stoked about that Ant lock since I read about it on Knife News. It's just my style. If I could get an Ant lock in M390 I think it would be a "must buy" for me.

There are four models of the Cutjack bearings flippers with liner lock, G-10, M390 and made in Italy for $170-$180. This information is from the video and Steel Will website. Two models with 3.5" blade and two with 3" blade. Each model with either black or blue G-10.

I'm uncertain the Cutjack is made by Viper but some of the past Steel Will knives were made by Viper. Viper has two flipper models in M390: Italo and Fortis.

  on that orange linerless ant-lock deal, F12?

That and the orange clip point fixed blade are the only ones that interested me,
That prototype with with the modified sheep's foot blade epitomizes what I hate about 75%+ of modern folders.

First time I've really looked at any knives by this brand.

They actually seem mildly interesting.

I carry tip down, right rear pocket, and it appears that all of their folders are tip up only. Looks like I won't be buying any of these anytime soon. Their fixed blades they showed in the video looked fairly interesting, and a price point I liked. But I'm not a fan of finger choils, so it looks like I'll be passing on those as well.

I will keep more of an eye on the brand though, to see if anything changes in those areas.

I'm excited by just about anything FRN or linerless g10. Good job Steel Will.

Did I miss the other two "gents" folders with the loopover clips? They looked interesting but they just skimmed right over them to the ugly aluminum ones. Green and burgundy? How bout a matte blue Steel Will?

When he says 'ball bearings', do you think he means sealed in a race, or loose like IKBS? Disassembly is easy with one and murder with the other.

Put a strong magnet on the blade before disassembly. Makes it much easier. Unless, I suppose, if they're ceramic. Don't know that I've ever seen a ceramic IKBS system though.

I used to think IKBS loose bearings would be difficult to maintain but it really isn't. I did it on my CRKT Eros Titanium and it was tedious but not difficult.

In this video the creator of IKBS, Flavio Ikoma, shows you how to maintain both loose and caged bearings:

I don't think anyone uses loose bearings anymore, including the licensed IKBS which have been updated to use races (see newer CRKT, Reate/Begg collaborations)

Begg has used ceramic IKBS on their knives and on the Reate collaborations. They are sealed in a race though.

I believe Shirogorov and Todd Begg Steelcraft still use loose bearings.

Magnet on the blade is really clever, but I'm glad to hear it's likely sealed. I'm surprised how good these knives look. M390 3" Cut-Jack is on the short-list!

Looks really good for Steel Will for 2017.

I can see getting some more of their blades later on, just need more information first.

Hmm the ant lock is intriguing, might have to pick one up

You are correct about the Begg stuff, I was mistaken. I find it odd that the IKBS patent (not sure if it's actually patented or just trademarked) allows for both loose and captured bearings to both bear that name.

im SOO gonna get that cutjack large and small...looks freaking awesome...

I liked their designs but was reluctant to purchase due to the thick blades. So I am glad that they introduce thin blade options (Cutjack at 0.12").

Miso

I have one of their knives and it's excellent for the price. Will definitely be buying some of these new designs.

They skipped over them, I'm hoping there are some significant differences on them other than titanium vs aluminum. The aluminum versions didn't get my attention at all, on top of hating aluminum handles entirely.
