Hello

To tell you guys the truth, only the Gryphon on the sheath is of dacian design, which I cleverly stole from the famous Helmet of Coțofenești: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helmet_of_Coțofenești
The rest is just a regular, but sexy knife from my shop :D
It is 28.5 cm long, the blade is 15.5 cm long, 4 cm wide and 6 mm thick at it's max, which thins towards the tip, it is forged of cut off bits and pieces of previous hammerings, mostly of 5160 and L6, but it may contain other tool steels too and has hundreds of layers.
The handle is made of antler, oak and forged iron.
The sheath is made of sturdy cowhide.

It is 230 usd, with postal fee included! Paypal is welcomed :)

Sold!

Thanks guys!
There is nothing interesting with the spine, but sure, tomorrow I will make a picture and post it ;)

I love this knife. Too big for my needs but the design and materials come together very beautifully. If you ever make its smaller cousin - exactly alike but with a 9cm blade - send me a PM. Please not before 2016 - my knife budget for the year is already overextended :D.

A truly great looking knife - nicely done

Thanks a lot! :)
A smaller similar with a 9 cm blade would be around 150 usd, and I would gladly make it for you. But I am afraid, my brain is like swiss cheese, I will surely forget about it, till next year. :(

How long is the bottom part of the handle and where does the 15.5cm blade measurement start from? The handle or the cutting edge? Also what is the weight? Alot of questions, I know, but thanks.

No problem :)
It is 280 grams with sheath and 205 grams without the sheath. The bottom part of the handle is 11 cm.
15.5 cm is the blade from the handle, the edge is 14 cm.

Thanks a lot! :)

If you could really make one JUST LIKE THIS ONE - Oak, antler, forged iron handle with scrapmascus blade - but scaled down proportionately with a 8-9cm blade - I'll remember to get back to you.

Yeah  good for you. Great one IMHO. Of course Hellize is probably sleeping right about now (3:15 AM in Romania.) He'll be glad to see your post in the morning.

Yeah, I was sleeping :)
Sure, I could shrink it to a 8-9 cm blade, but I can't promise that I will have enough scrap damascus for a blade till that time. Isn't ok with normal random damascus. My blades usually have quite chaotic pattern anyway :D

Yeah yeah - of course. I'll be talking to you.

Glad you sold this one.

Cheers, Ray

This one has been sold, thanks for looking. If you wish to have a similar one, please feel free to contact me! :)

Glad you sold this one.

Yea, this one was calling me. I like that the Damascus is made of tough scrap steel and doesn't have a uniform pattern. Handle made for a cold European winter. Very earthy, and looks like it's forged from an age gone by.
