Here's one that is "dagger like". Dozier Arkansas Toothpick.

What do you think of the Fox bellum? It looks great
Also, where did you get that Bauchop Whitch? I'd love to have one.

Thanks. Here's a quick overview of the Bellum with more pics: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...omething-New-for-Dagger-Fans?highlight=bellum

I think it's the nicest currently available production dagger of its kind, and well worth the asking price. The grind symmetry and fit 'n' finish are flawless.

I bought it from a dealer more than a decade ago. As far as I know, Peter is retired, though his son still makes some of the classic Bauchop patterns, but I can't vouch for their quality. Peter's work is fairly rare on the used market, but they do show up occasionally if you're patient.

I love to look at daggers. They are sexy and the half grind "bayonet" are a close second. Here's a dagger I ground from some Aldos 1084 that has been sitting around. When I'm less busy, I'll shape and drill the guard and butt (aluminum) and do a stacked leather washer handle. This will be a first for me.

I don't own one of these, but the Hattori Ultra looks pretty nice. Unfortunately, they're out of production and the only examples I've found for sale to the US come from a few European dealers and they aren't exactly bargain priced. The basic blade design and overall workmanship appear very reminiscent of a few old Al Mar daggers. It's 9-1/2" OAL with an AUS-8 blade, Micarta handle, tapered tang and leather boot-clip sheath. Current price if you can find one is around $350.

This is another one of those dangerous threads that is going to end up costing me money that I don't need to spend

I got the Fox Bellum largely because of Rick's posts.

If you're thinking of buying it, the sides are not sharp at all which I found highly disappointing. The stock is so thick that it is impossible to sharpen them, it is purely a stiletto for stabbing.

Careful that is a very slippery slope you are on.
(Take it from someone who has the t-shirt and hat).

I consider daggers and multiblades the most difficult knives to make correctly. I also remember a statement made many years ago by a well known collector with more experience than I will ever have saying "no knife collection is complete without an example of a well made dagger".

This is the lastest dagger that I have been fortunate to add to my collection:
(Like someone once said, you never know when you just might have to dag someone :D)

I've never seen a quillion dagger by Mr. Evans before, thanks! You are a lucky guy to own it. Don't you have one of his more recent persian pieces too?

I don't have many daggers or double-edged knives in my accumulation, but I am completely blown away by the beauty of some of these. It goes without saying that not only is Bastid's collection jaw-dropping, but so is SharpByCoop's photography.

Of all the daggers posted above, the one I'd be mostly likely to purchase is this one, shown by Edwood7.

I am actually more fortunate to know Vince and Grace as friends, but yes I do have a kard that he made. Sometime in the next few years he might even make me something a lot longer with a basket type guard, hilt. ;)
