Careful, ras. One might think you were making this a personal attack. I just asked for some information. I appreciate and have taken the advice given here and contacted another bladesmith in addition to Dale.

I am not, nor do I claim to be, Dale's ethical conscience. I don't control for whom he does and does not make a knife. It is unfortunate that you and others have paid for knives and are out that money with no end product, but it's also not my problem. Should I get a reply from Dale and he states he's willing to make me a knife without any upfront payment, I'm going to take him up on the offer. It doesn't hurt me any to do so.

Afterall, the guy scammed the crap out of many and owes alot of knives to alot of people. Didn't he take your money for a knife and fail to deliver also????

But by helping to keep a knife maker scammer in business you make it ALL of our problem.

I've heard that Allan Blade and Larry Harley make very nice knives as well. I've got to say that this thread does have me bemused.

1) Maker is a known crook and liar.

2) Potential customer asks about maker

3) Potential customer is warned about crooked and lying tendencies

4) Potential customer wants to go ahead anyway, after all the maker makes a knife he really wants.

5) Of course there's no guarantee that said knife will ever show up but he really wants it.
