DALIBOR KNIVES SIRIUS! One serious knife!!! My story and pics!

Not sure of the exact weight? Maybe Dalibor will see this and post it! I can tell you I just compared it to my ZT 0551 and it seems about the same weight as that! Heres a vid of Sirius!!

well i don't have a very accurate scale but someone did measure it in my thread here on BF..
i think Regulus (bigger one) was about 9.3oz or something like that and Sirius around 8oz..

thanks for the kind words guys ;)

If Superman carried a knife it would be one of Dalibors!! :D

Hah hah! Quote of the week!

This knife looks like a one you should indeed bring to a gun fight! I absolutely love the design and look of it. Also thanks for posting that video, it was great to see the knife in action. The "downside" to all this (and it's only that if you ask my wife) is, that now I want one too :)

Well contact Dalibor! His waiting list is only getting longer as we speak! He may move you up if you mention you saw his work on here. Love me a good Pale ale!

...and so I did. I guess the only cure for a knife-addiction is to get more knives :D

I had an order in for one of Dalibors knives over the summer and when he contacted me that it was ready,I chickened out.I am(was) a fan of large ,overbuilt
knives and own an Xm,3 Sisters Forge Beast and others but Dalibors just seemed to overwhelm.I decided it would end up sitting on my display shelf and that was no life for such a knife.Needless to say, the knife simply went to the next lucky person in line.

Now I sort of regret my decision.

Thanks for a great review and the side by side comparisons. Might have made a big difference back then.

Right now he's on a 4-5 month wait. And its defiantly an over built knife but its not that bad in pocket. I had a direware solo v2 and although its shorter in length and has a thinner blade than dalibor its overall thickness was .750 and thus was harder to get to my keys in my pocket. I have to say i love this dalibor regulus that i have. What you get for the price is amazing. He's defiantly one maker to watch out for and his stuff is only going to climb in price especially when his books close.

Yeah I dont think you can even put Dalibors knives in the same sentence as an XM or a 3 Sisters. Both fantastic knives, which I own! But thats like comparing a Ford Ranger and an F-350 power stroke turbo diesel! Tank you re so right the value you are getting is just sick!! Like i ve told Dalibor I truly believe that he is going to take off with this and he will be right there with the big boys! Get em while you can boys, before they double in price!

So in my forever quest for tough knives I stumbled upon the Spyderco Schempp Tuff. After reading about it and seeing that it had 3V blade steel I ordered one. My first impression was that it was big! The handle seemed way too big for the blade?! But for the most part comfortable in the hand! While this is Spydercos "Tough" knife it just doesn't measure up to Dalibors creation!! Here are some specs on the Schempp:
Length Overall: 8.84" (225 mm)
Length Closed: 5.15" (131 mm)
Blade Length: 3.75" (95 mm)
Cutting Edge: 3" (76 mm)
Blade Thickness: 0.157" (4 mm)
Blade Steel: CPM-3V Stainless Steel
Handle Material: G10 and Titanium
Weight: 6.6 z. (186 g)
So the Sirius beats out the Schempp with its blade thickness at 5.5mm! The Sirius also beats the Schempp in handle thickness and comfort! And for having a longer blade I find the cutting edges to be about the same. Looks like the Spydie is about an ounce or so lighter. The Schempp is a nice buy but they should have consulted with Dalibor before building a "Tuff" knife!!

thank you Adam!!!
you have quite a collection here...all my favorites :)
i hope i'll match their level of finish one day ;)

Dalibor your fit and finish is great and will only get better! Especially with your new mill!! If you really like the Spydie Schempp Tuff maybe we could work out a trade or something? Its a really nice knife I just have way too many!! Id rather have someone use it! I will probably store it in one of my Spyderpacs along with all its brothers and sisters!

Dalibor is, in my humble opinion, the maker of the best.....most hard-use.....folder out there today. I have the Regulus and it is making me rethink my need for fixed blade knives....and their costly sheaths!! Just got my Regulus out again and I can't put it down.....it's just a beauty!!! Can't wait to get my hands on a Sirius.....

So I email Dalibor and bug him prob more than he likes but i keep telling him im his biggest fan!! I just love the overbuilt construction of his knives! And the fit and finish is just phenomenal! I am prob going to send one or both to Maprik to anodize! I think they would look awesome bronze colored! I recently got a new knife by Dalibor and Alpha Hunter Tactical called Namor! It simply put is badass!! The handle is contoured and the blade has a wicked harpoon shape that just screams use me, abuse me!! It makes me wanna like stab a car door or something! I just might do that! LOL! So here are a few pics and a lot of Ti!! Not sure how many Namors were made but Dalibor might be able to take a custom order for one?! Hit him up! Im telling you guys, Dalibor is one maker to look out for!! Enjoy!!

I thought about getting my Regulus bronzed as well. Love the Namor I like that he did something with a little more belly and those contours look comfy. Is the pocket clip retention just as ridiculous as on his others.

Yeah I love the contoured handles! It helps with such thick handle slabs! I kind of agree if I can find anything, being picky I would say the pocket clips are a little much. They look great but are definitely pocket shredders! Im sure after time they will loosen up a little but they are pretty intense pocket clips! But we are speaking of Master Dalibor now! I think we can agree that his pocket clips will not fail. For carrying in a pants pocket or jeans I could envision some wear. Now in my tactical vest which is very reinforced I foresee no problems. If any of you have any ideas im sure Dalibor will listen and try to build whats best for his customers. So please post any alternative ideas for what you guys think would be ideal and I can pass them along to Dalibor or he may chime in on here as he has in the past! Im just not so sure a clip like Spyderco style or Benchmades classic would fit in this case?! But please it doesn't hurt to brainstorm. Cheers!! :)

hey guys,

thanks for all the comments :)

i make clips stiff as that's the way i like em...some people wanted it with less retention so i made it that way...

if you own one of my knives you can remove the clip and just sand the middle part a bit till you get it right, also you can just bend it the other way a bit..

if you screw it up i'll send you a new one ;)

Just got done with a series of emails with him and I am now officially in line for one! A Regulus with contured bronze colored flamed scale and clip.
It only looks like I have no self control. I can stop at any time...really I can. Well perhaps not. Oh well...
Cheers...

Adam, Thanks for posting pics! Enjoy Namor. You got 1 of 2 that were OP Silver Ti and 1 of 11 that were made. We auctioned one of mine the other day and it went for $790.00 These are rare birds. I'm glad you like it.
God Bless and I hope to see you at Blade.
Chad

That' s one sweet knife Striderco. I've been considering picking one of these up and I may jsut have to now! BTW, if you still have the itch for overbuilt folders, check out Demko's AD-10 if you haven't already. It's right up there in terms of tooughness!
