usually, when your building floods, it's no good.
My building has been flooding just a bit from time to time, but more frequently lately. Long story short, it's because an area behind the shop has gradually gotten high enough that water runs in through the wet wall, which needs to be rebuilt as it has rotten out somewhat over the years. It's really hard to get in there, because there is about 10 years worth of blackberry plants choking it up. Hence the odd sense of jubilance I felt this morning as I headed out back with my shovel... and Damascarbotanium. I was looking forward to tackling this particular problem.
It took about 20 minutes of hacking and slicing through dried old blackberry plants and new growth on top, up to 1" in diameter to get to a point where I could break out the shovel and dig a water diverting ditch to get it away from my building. These thick blackberry bushes stood about 2' over my head, (which actually isn't that high

).
Just from this morning's experience using this knife, I am EXTREMELY impressed!
-Due to its light weight and longish handle, this knife is very agile. I can arrest its momentum pretty close to immediately. I can choke up on the handle for even more and finer control, and less leverage if not needed.
-The handle is not designed to remain comfortable during heavy, repetitive, extended use. It's sharp geometries complement a tool made for controllability for accurate cutting.
-This knife is definitely more Lambourghini than Hummer.
-The bevels on this unit are super acute- the edge is very fine and extremely keen, (not an edge for chopping hard or frozen wood, but amazing for soft or spindly stuff). Not that I expected any damage to the edge from today, and there wasn't any. She's still a hair popper.
-The 'harpoon clip' is very handy for flicking debris out of the way.
-The s guard was unexpectedly useful, it saved my hand on several occassions from getting cut up by those thorns.
-This knife has a lot of reach, at a minimum weight.
I'll be getting out for another session, which I plan to record. The coolest thing about this knife are the sounds it makes as it cleaves through stuff...it rings like a bell. Also, the feel of it as it cuts stuff, well it's hard to describe but it feels really awesome.
