Damascus and Chocolate Mammoth Ivory D-Guard Bowie

Piece of cake - that's a good one! :D This is a really terrific piece John - one of the nicest D-guards I have seen. Everything comes together well aesthetically and functionally - and that's no easy trick with this kind of knife. Bravo.

Roger

WOW:eek::eek: That is one of the coolest D-Guards i've ever seen! Just beautiful John. That mammoth is sure sweet enough to be chocolate.

Peter

Very nice! This is probably one of the nicest D guards I've seen in awhile. Very classy and elegant flowing curves.
Bob

Did you say Ck or Jk? Great job John, I would have liked the guard a little wider. Fantastic damascus:thumbup::D:thumbup: You getting pretty good at this knife game.;)

Sweet!!! If you had not told us that was ivory, I would have guessed it was something like real old growth rosewood.

John, I am warming up to D-guard's, and this one has added some flames. Very well done. Would have loved to see a WIP of this. Coolest ivory, to boot.

Beautiful Bowie. The matching take-down tool is a very nice detail!

Kind regards,

Jos

I don't know how I missed this one. I am not a D-guard fan but just had to comment. That mammoth material is absolutely gorgeous. Sure woulda like to have been able to hold that baby and feel it.

Knives like this and Coop's Nick Wheeler piece are a great part of the attraction of the ABS Expo.
One of your best knives to date John and that's saying a lot in my opinion.

Thanks to all of ya'll for your comments on the D-Guard. These knives are a "required" element of the traditional genre I like so much, and I'll be doing more.

This baby should be arriving at Pappy Long's today or tomorrow, and given Paul's legendary speed, we should have a new pic soon!

John

When I first saw the pic I told Jon K that its one of the nicest whites I have seen, and if only the wood slabs were ivory that it would unbeatable.. Well he told me it IS ivory and I started drooling even harder.

Im really not sure what I was thinking because I can't recall a White with a wood handle.

Whoa, Roger,

Thanks for that little trip down memory lane!

I'm just starting a Koa-handled knife order this week, a damascus hunter. I'll be sure to post it up, Jonathan.

John

Wow, I feel stupid. I have seen all those pictures and just completely forgot.

John, Koa sounds nice..

Jon - look at it this way - you now have an expanded group of White knives to admire. :)

Roger

 Wow!! That sure is gorgeous John!!

I would have figured the handle to be wood If I were to guess. Amazing colored Ivory:thumbup: Awesome work

Great work John, as always! I loved the damascus in the blade, and lines are as elegant and clean as it gets, wonderful!

Cheers!
