these are Damascus blanks --550-600 carbon steel layer. they measure 8"L x 1 3/16 x .155. i would like to sell all three for $45.00 plus $5.00 shipping. thank you
id rather sell them together. they are worth around $40.00 each. but i would take $18 each for them. I would keep them but i need to reup on some money.
Im interested in t one for $18 but was wondering bout how they look after grinding as ive never worked with mascus before. Do they still show the folds, or they need to be re etched? If so, how easy is it to re etch them. I think the look would make a great fathers day girft to my dad.
hey mike the steel is ats-34 with1089.5 with o-2 along with 66% vanadium.lol. heck i bought this 2 years ago- here is the knife but from a different vendor - [[/url] . thats all the info i have on it. since then i havent got a forge until last week so i havent even began to think about doing some billets. nc57 the blade seems tempered to me. all i would do is sharpen it and get some carbide bits to drill your handle holes. Its a nice blade but i have not really worked on one so i cant say my word is from experience and to be honest 550-600 carbon layer is not all that desriptive. anyway thanks for looking and the response- marekz
ok i had many pm and emails-- these are grinded blanks - from my limited knowledge all they need is to be sharpened and have some scales put on. The steel is hard so carbide bits will be the best way to drill the holes for the scales. i guess you can still grind it if you wanted to. Norcalflat if your still interested let me know-you got first dibbs at this point-thanks marekz
