That is one fine looking knife. I really like the blue on blue motiff.
Well Done!!

What are the 3 steels in the blade, and how was it etched? Good job Matt!

I use Chads damascus a lot and I would say that is 1095 and pure nickel.

Chad is a great guy who makes some great steel. He sells on Ebay a lot but, recently told me no more 1095/nickel on ebay because of nickel cost he can't make anything. Now just ebays 1095/15n20. He will make the nickel on request.

Goodness! That's an outstanding knife.

Thank you all very much for the compliments.
Martin the boxelder is from Staburl.com he has some very nice stuff, but you must look often as it goes fast. I check daily cuz I'm a handle material junky!:D
David and Rhrocker, Ib2v4u (what the *^## does that mean anyway) was right, the damscus is 1095 and nickel. Etched 50/50, Ferric and water for ten mins, buffed off with no scratch and then just splashed back in and neutralized.

how well does pure nickel work when the stripes come down into the cuttign egde? does it hsrden up like steel? or is the nickel softer than the steel?

LOL. It is a long story of the internet as to how my cyber name got to be
ib2v4u. My actual name Is Jim Viall (say vile).

Wonderful knife and the whole package looks great and well executed. Really love the handle.
