I was at the Spyderco mini-Show at Leeds the weekend, and asked Sal why he didnt like Damascus blades. He surprised me by saying that he had nothing against damascus, and wondered if there would be a demand for it.

He asked me to post and ask the question: if spyderco were to do a Sprint Run of a damascus bladed knife, which model would you choose?

For my part, I would buy any Spydie that had a damascus blade:D

They did some way back when. I have a Damascus worker from the late 80's it's a cool knife.

Lum Chinese, Caly 3....more blade surface to show the Damascus.

I second Spyken's suggestion...would look beautiful especially with the elegant leaf-shaped blade.

I agree with the Lum Chinese but would like, if possible, to see a natural material used for the handle. Like ironwood or burl. Not sure if they could keep the same slim profile.

A damascus blade Chinese Folder with an ironwood or burl handle would be the most perfectist pocket knife EVER. :D

Kopa, definitely a Kopa. A damascus blade on a gentleman's folder would be perfect.

If they're going to make a high end damascus folder, they should go all the way. Titanium scales with inlaid mammoth ivory. Something with about a 3 inch balde. Maybe a Native?

If money were no object, I'd love to see a damascus stretch with black-lipped pearl inlays instead of the rubber.

Call me crazy . . . but I'd love to see a Civilian in damascus :D

Back to the real world, a Lum would also be awesome ! ! !

I would buy a raindrop damascus caly 3 or lum chinese. I would buy 2 or 3 and I would buy more if Sal would put raindrop damascus in several models. As for handle material, I prefer carbon fiber or titanium. I would gladly pay between $150 to $300 for a raindrop damascus spyderco in any model. Make one Sal, please.

I too, think that damascus would be most appropriate on the Kopa series. Barring that, I share the sentiment of it being on a leaf-shaped blade like the Caly III.

While I don't have any damascus Spyderco's, I wanted to ask about one I saw probably 8-9 years ago. I saw an all damascus Civilian at a gun show, and I was just starting to collect knives, and didn't realize what I was passing by.
Has anyone ever seen another one of these, or have any information about them? I haven't checked the Spyderco site forum for any info, figured I'd start here.
Anyone have any info?

Scott
