Damascus Spydie? Which would you choose?

Devin Thomas damascus kopa with burl ironwood would be great. I would love to see various versions such as raindrop, turk twist, basketweave, ladder, etc. Please make damascus spydercos Sal.

Persian! preferrably the small one, but the large one would be great as well.

I don't think damascus looks that good with high tec materials like CF or G10...

Deacon posted a mock up of a damascus full sized persian on the Spyderco forum. Very beautiful!

As I posted on the Factory Forum...

First choice:

Beyond those, anything fully ambidexterous, with a usable 50/50 choil. I do have a hunch that Sal might prefer to use a US made model for this, in which case my suggestion would be the C41 Native, preferably full flat ground without the swedge.

Handles could be anything from the "stock" FRN on up, as I can always find someone to replace them.

I, like a lot of you, think the Bob Lum Chinese Folder would be the best blade for the Damascus. The only handle that I could see on it is Titanium or why not go crazy and make that Damascus too! The knives with handles that already have natural material’s in them would be easier options.

Personally if I was Sal I would make it out of S30V and VG-10 (dye one of the materials a darker shade). Do a very small numbered run with the first few knives going to people that made Spyderco possible (you should definitely keep on for yourself Sal!). I figure that there are a few people Sal would like to thank, and a meshing of Japan and American steels would be a nice symbolic gesture for some of some of those people that happen to reside in Seki City.

Finally I think I should get a free one because I thought of it (and already blew my knife budget for the year!).

On second thought a Chinese folder for Japanese businessmen might offensive, go with the Kopa or Native.

A Persian with a damascus blade would be killer. After that, I think the long slender blade of the C50 would look awesome with a nice tight pattern damascus, or maybe something a little wild with high contrast like Don Hanson mosaic.

Hmm... another variation to throw into the mix: a Lum Chinese folder, Damascus with jade handles. Then again, the price of jade (and working it)...

A damascus Chinook III with koa handles. :D

The Lum Chinese in koa/damascus sounds sweet, too

I would buy any but I think it would do better in the from of a Kiwi or kopa mixed with mammoth ivory.
