Damascus

I am surprised it went for as little as it did.

If the seller would have polished up the blade some and taken better pics, it would have gone for more. Those will typically go closer to $200 at least.

And that buyer is highly motivated. I put in a bid on one a while back with a max that was $90 over the current bid and he still beat me.

Seems there is a definite trend of poor quality pics on ebay lately, when a knife isn't quite as good as the description says it is. Sellers don't want the defects shown. I guess sometimes they are just lousy photographers tho.... Sometimes just a roll of the dice.

Larry,
I think you just hit the nail on the head. It is too easy to get burned on ebay. If the photos don't accurately show the quality of the knife, I will not bid. The lesson learned here for serious sellers is to take time and put up good quality photos. It could mean a much higher selling point.

I as thinking Sambar with FG but after seing Larry's I think I'm going without the grooves. And I would get rivets for that 'old skool' look.
Groovy...

So to get back to the topic of this thread:rolleyes:...I dug out my damascus Bucks and tried a new background.

The 112 is by Leroy, the middle from Bucks Custom Shop last year and the one on the left from the Bay when I didn't know any better:grumpy:. It was advertised as stag...well it is but it's elk, not the sandbar:p that we all know and love. Preston

Too bad I didn't know ya when I was working in that Golden town for the company a year or two ago that makes near-beer or when I commuted to Boulder/Longmont for a year and a half. I'm certain it might have come up MIA in my luggage somehow...damn gremlins.

Yes, Goose, it's a shame, I've lived out the on the plains for about ten years. Did alot of driving on I-25 for about five years when I was doing labs in retriever field trials. Bet we passed along the way at one time or another. Preston
