Damn you Spyderco people! I had a healthy collection of Benchmades then got a PM2. The design is boring and simple, yet it finds its way into my pocket everyday, so now I don't carry BM's at all. What did you do to me?!!??!?

It's the simplicity and effectiveness in the design. It's hard to put your finger on it because it's so subconsciously satisfying.

There's a lot of truth in this thread:
"The design is boring and simple, yet it finds its way into my pocket everyday, so now I don't carry BM's at all."
and
"Now you need a Military to go with it"- I'm looking for one.

I've been through a lot of knives and the PM2 is right in more ways than the others. It went into my pocket the first day and it's there everyday.

Thanks Bladeforums

Well, this is not a surprise. Spyderco has been creating new fans and stealing others for years. The fascination surrounding Spydercos is something that cannot be explained.

Case in point: I have owned 1 Benchmade my entire life. I lived 10 miles away from the Benchmade factory and drove by it damn near everyday, yet never visited it.

I did drive the 1,230+ miles just to visit the Spyderco Factory store for about an hour. :D

Have you seen the new Perrin PPT Sprint Run, perfect timing, it's just getting to most dealers. HURRY!

Another easy diagnosis. You've contracted full blown S.A.D. (Spyderco Addiction Disorder), and no cure currently exists. You'll get by with just one at first, but as the disease progresses you'l need more and more. It ends with your wallet laying on the floor, all the money gone, your bank account drained, and all that's left is receipts. I had to take mine out behind the shed last week, poor thing, been with me for 20 years. At least it won't suffer anymore. My new one is healthy enough, but who knows how long it will hold up?

Welcome to the disease!

Spydercos went from being an ugly knife I said many years ago I'd never buy to today being the most addictive brand I've ever encountered. Enough said.

The PM2 is sneaky good. Maybe not the best knife for any one task or function, but very good at all functions. Probably the best combination of of good points of any production on the market. No wonder many think it s their favorite edc knife. How can a serious knife user resist it?

guys, how soon did your S.A.D. (Spyderco Addiction Disorder) top off? it just stabilizes but never goes away. with me, i had to buy three ti millies, a g-10 millie, a zdp endura, a vg-10 delica, a zdp ladybug, and vg-10 caly before i finally broke into a sweat.

Around $7000 worth...but that includes shipping to here.

Not nearly as bad as some others, and I can't ship knives so no selling. I just think of it as being set for knives for the rest of my life.

I just hope when I die, that my wife won't sell them for what I told her I paid for them. :D

The box should have a warning label on it...."Use of this product can cause financial disruption in most people--open with extreme caution!"

Yeah, sprint fever is a deadly affliction. It kills your personal finance dead. :)

I've had it bad in the past, but after 30 Spydies, I am building up some resistance. Not immune yet, but getting there, slowly.
