Damn you Spyderco people

Yeah, sprint fever is deadly affliction. It kills your personal finance dead. :)

I've had it bad in the past, but after 30 Spydies, I am building up some resistance. Not immune yet, but getting there, slowly.

Yup, sprint fever is even deadlier than plain S.A.D. Symptoms include ramen noodle diets after sprint releases. :D

the para dose do alot of things very well . the flat grind makes it a good slicer and the needle like point is usefull for digging out splinters, the grip is good feeling in the hand and thanks to the crack infused g10 and jimpping darn near slip proof.the compression lock is as strong as it needs to be and is fun in use.the s30v more than adequate in edge holding vs ease of sharpening. for me to be perfect the grips would be 1/8th " thicker, i have passed the 60 year mark and my hands like more to hang onto these days

I've slowed at 46 because I have a lot of the different steels and locks I wanted to try, but I'm definitely far from done...just a little more selective now.

I got a Domino and it relegated my Brous Caliber to the knife drawer. Spyderco knives are crafted works of art.

The real problem is too few pockets for the ever increasing Spydies.

What I love about Spyderco is that they make quality knives from top to bottom. My Tenacious and Persistence boast amazing fit, ergos, and functionality just like my Chaparral and Domino do.

I still haven't bitten on a PM2, though I know I need to do that...

Another thing I think is great about Spydercos, is the G-10 (of which I'm on a huge kick for these day). I love how its as grippy as it should be, but not overly aggressive where it will ruin your pockets.

Is it me, or does the G-10 from my Chinese made Persistence feel exactly like the G-10 on my Golden made PM2?

Unless your PM2 is fake, no. The G10 on fake of Golden spydies are usually one of the giveaways. Maybe it's a YMMV though...

guys, how soon did your S.A.D. (Spyderco Addiction Disorder) top off? it just stabilizes but never goes away. with me, i had to buy three ti millies, a g-10 millie, a zdp endura, a vg-10 delica, a zdp ladybug, and vg-10 caly before i finally broke into a sweat.

In 3 months (My Spyderversary is tomorrow!) I've bought 10 Spyderco folders (Delica 4, Sage 3, Manix 2 G-10, Manix 2 Black DLC, Manix 2 Lightweight CTS-BD1, Tenacious Black Oxide Coated, Stretch VG-10, Caly 3.5 VG-10, Para Military 2, Endura 4 Blue FRN) the Sharpmaker, and the ultra fine triangle rods. I had most of the designs I really liked. Yesterday my niece an 2 nephews came down for spring break and my niece liked the Stretch a lot. Her birthday was coming up so I gave it to her. My nephew Jerry asked if he could buy my Tenacious off me and my other nephew wanted to buy my Delica. I gave them to them as early birthday presents. It was nice seeing their faces light up, and I'm only out about $200. I think it was better than video games or electronics. I'm down to 7 now and I'll be buying 2 or 3 this week probably. Another PM2 might be in order, but the two Manix 2 LWs that I don't have are high on the list too. I'm thinking I might get another Stretch but I'm still undecided on anything so far.

They actually put them to use today, we were working by my creek after I got home and they were cutting the ends of branches out of the way with them. We built a little dam to pool the water up for my dogs to swim and play. When they come out here to the boonies they get life experience that they'll always remember. Instead of days on end of sitting in front of a tv they learned some basic engineering and how to put a tire on the rim of a wagon without a machine. They're tired but they felt really good about our little accomplishments. It's too bad kids don't grow up like I did but they'll always have the memories of doing stuff outside with their country uncle.

...they learned how to put a tire on the rim of a wagon without a machine.

By using their new knives as prybars!

:D

The Spydie bite fizzled for me when I looked at the credit card statement for the first time since February. Since then, I've adopted a philosophy that says if I wouldn't be comfortable actually using the knife for all the crap I typically use my knives for, I ain't gonna keep it or buy it. The purge has been replenishing the coffers, but I'm also finding certain models more attractive now that I'm looking at them as users. *Cough cough* Military...

Well I ordered another Spyderco today, the PM2 Digicam DLC. I blame the OP, he just had to get me thinking about how much I loved my only PM2. I hope he's happy!

yeah...well...its only a military that gets me feverish. sold all my spydecos other then the millies and a volotton. will be getting more millie and custom spydies though. even the pm2's went just not big enuff. great lock and machine work though i can see why its the dogs bark. just not jer's

Watch Out!! I got the Spydie fever fever in 1999 and it's been a great ride to 2015. That's right, I just went and counted. 107 and 1 more coming from Rachel at the Spyderco store. Damn! I didn't realize that I had it that bad. Oh well, it's been a great sickness and I'm Loving it!

I'm going to buy a couple more Spydies and that's it, swear to God. I'm not as sick as you are, I feel sorry for you people :D

Mine cooled off after 12. That 12 was in less than 3 months, though. I've only bought one since Christmas, so far. The PPT is calling and a Military is definitely on my short list.

I might be wrong, but I think the confusion started with this post. :D The 'China made' Persistence turned into a fake PM2. My PM2 and the Persistence I gifted had similar-feeling G10.

I only own 3 Spyderco knives. Delica 4, PM 2, and Tasman SE. I got into the knife thing when I joined this forum (join date), so somewhat recently. I've gifted a Persistence, Manix 2 and Squeak as well. I got the bite and am in agony lately. I sent in my brother's, chipped up Manix to get sharpened. Since the $5 return shipping covers 'up to 4 knives,' I sent in my Delica and PM with it. I think they're on their way back, but I can't get over how anxious I am to get knives I already own!
