Dark OPS Knives anyone heard anything?

Wow...

Try a search.

As far as I know they are just hype...but then again I haven't felt the need to de-animate any jet fuel.

They are mostly hype, and copied designs. Look at Extrema Ratio Knives, and you will see.

Ahhh.. good old Dork Ops again. I want the one with the special blood grooves.

We could tell you but we'd have to de-animate you. The knives are sooooo secret that even people that own them dont know what they look like. Actually you have to sign a non-disclosure agreement and a release from harm agreement before they can ship you your knife. ;)

Ship it to you? Are you kidding? First of all you need to prove that you have a defence approved secret clearance, then you have to provide an armoured car to transport it to your place under police guard.

They don't just hand out covert de-animators you know!

I heard the shipping cost was very high. The rubber handled knife and kydex sheath usually weighs under two pounds; but, they ship them in 50,000 pound vaults.....

"Dark Ops Knives are made from a proprietary hybrid alloy of Chromium, Cobalt, Tungsten, Vanadium, and Molyb-denum with surgical grade stainless steel! CTV2 offers both strength and edge holding ability that is unrivaled! Zone selective cryogenic hardening allows for medical grade edge sharpness while avoiding the brittleness of high Rockwell hardness! "

When every sentence ends in !, it just HAS to be good, right?

It's too bad they only use "medical grade edge sharpness", I was hoping for "BF member" sharpness. :D

I think they really use BS sharpness.

Or will, if they ever get around to making a knife, instead of an ad.

Hope they don't turn out to be an offshoot of MercWorx knives :D

Lots O Hype & not living up to their claims :D :D

But all in all...I have to admit that I like the smaller covert folder :o

Honestly, the designs look pretty good (just like they do as Extreme Ratio Knives...I mean, c'mon, the similarity is just a bit obvious). I'll probably pick one up just to see how good they really are...when and if they are ever released. The company has made some pretty big claims. I might have to take a page out of Cliff Stamps abuse guide and see if they'll hold up.

Never looked at the Extreme Ratio Knives, but after checking them out.....your right, you can't mistake the similaries between them.
Copy cats???? Still, tempting to check one out if I ever could & if they ever come out.

There's no order form because there's no knives to order yet. It's about six months since they were supposed to debut. No coincidence they resemble Extrema Ratio. The ER distributor in the US fell out with the manufacturer, and left to set up his own business: Dark Operations Knives.

What bothers me is that the man in the middle of all this was a good guy. I cannot understand how he got caught up in this ... whatever.

Those of you who plan to purchase a Dark Odds covert de-animator, please be aware that you could as well spend money on Chinese Spyderco clones - Dark Ops products might be higher quality knives, but they're still knock-offs.

And I'm not sure if you could really be happy with a knife manufactured by a company that either doesn't have a clue or - more likely - thinks their customers are stupid enough to believe their hype.
Don't support them by spending your hard-earned bucks on their questionable products. Buy a real knife.

Stratofighter Covert:

"A full inch smaller when folded, 17% lighter, but equally lethal. "

This is the kind of silly marketing that leads silly legislators to make silly laws.

When I "run out of ammo and need to slash through the mob" or I can't trust my other knives because of their "toylike cosmetic features" Dark Ops Fighting Knives are my knives of choice, especially if I'm up to my elbows in blood and hydraulic fluid.

Yeah Man! I absolutely agree.

Since no one has seen them yet I think they are probably just photoshop creations, based off ER models. Of course then there whole question of ER missing inventory...
