Add some thumb-eating teeth to the back of the blade and a patented "StabYourOwnLeg" spike on the handle end, and this would be a huge seller.
Dork Oops, are you listening?

Or buy a tactical black Douk Douk from Szabo Inc. :D

So how have they managed to stay in business this long? Are they actually selling enough knives to stay in business (shipping out to dealers) or at this point is it just a website that remains up in the hopes of selling off whatever stock was made initially?

I guess so but I hate any add copy that tries to sell a knife or a line of knives as weapons rather than tools used for cutting. I think that it just makes it that much harder on those of us that carry a knife everyday and the thought of using said knife as a weapon never crosses our mind.

I had an altercation (that makes it sound nicer than it was <grin>) with a fellow biker that appeared to be tweaked out of his mind at a gas station a couple years ago when he decided that since I wasn't dressed "biker enough" in his opinion and I happened to be riding a bike that was only a few months old that I must be a "Yuppie" (his words not mine) even though I've been riding some form of motorcycle since I was 7 -8 years old. The guy was so out of his mind angry that he started walking towards me while making threats BUT the thought of taking the large Benchmade Skirmish out of my front pocket never entered my mind.

Companies like Dark Ops (and others) with their over the top advertising only make it more likely (by scaring the uniformed voter) that more restrictive laws with regards to carrying a knife will be passed and that ticks me off.

Couldn't agree more. Appeal is based on an image that it has some value at all...and what they call it is "covert deanimation". I don't believe the people behind this marketing stategy care too much about what it looks like for the knife industry as a whole. Like I said, some lonely fool with no real idea of what makes for a decent, useable knife is going to buy the fantasy BS, and the makers are banking on it...bottom line.
