Cutting onions and potatoes put a patina on my infi. Nothing drastic, but it's got the blues and yellows on it.No plans on hot bluing. I'm real stubborn, I might go on a journey to see what if anything can patina infi.
I too, like the look of a worn coating. It lets you know it has seen some work.Sure would! I think it’ll look great. I’m one of the few weirdos who likes the look of a beat up coating so I don’t have any stripped.
I did do an acid wash on a Spyderco blade I had and it turned out great. I did it the ghetto way though - gravel and blade in a Gatorade bottle, towels around that, duct taped, and ran a few cycles in the dryer.
This sounds fantastic, please post photos and link the protocol if you do this, I'd love to give this a try as well on some of my not quite stainless blades!Excellent information! Thanks. Might make this into a project. Remove handles, etch, stone wash to get a black wash, and then reattach handles. It would be a sexy infidu.
Very good stuffEver tried Casey Birchwood super blue? That stuff is pretty decent.
TNT is not INFIThis may help.
Black Raw Dog ???
I did a little blueing in-between sheaths. Turned out nice I think , how about you ?www.bladeforums.com
dont do it. can't be done.I searched a bunch, read varying threads on gun blue working/not working. I tried hot vinegar, no go lol
Anyone got any secrets? I REALLY want to darken up this infidu.
That’s how I do it, then wash well with dawn dish soap. And ferric chloride will darken it.Did you neutralize with baking soda?
Schweet! I was seeing all the pictures of it earlier and wondering if you were going to. Go for it bro, and best of luck.
Such a nice finish on this one, bitter sweet doing this to it, but I prefer non shiny. Except the edgeSchweet! I was seeing all the pictures of it earlier and wondering if you were going to. Go for it bro, and best of luck.![]()
