GREAT THREAD! With some awesome photos.

I think Vege-Taco wins the "obsession w/ most radical" award... nice collectin' there, Vege...!

Any more customs with great inlays, slap up a pic!! Keep this thread rollin;

I bought one of the Camillus Cuda Maxx 5.5 D2 with a Bowie blade several years ago, before they closed up shop. From the onset the lockbar practically hits the opposite frame, and I do not like the tip-down carry method (this knife only, otherwise I prefer it) one bit. So this knife has seldom been carried.

Is it possible to send this to Darrell for a tune up, and fitment of tip-up carry clip?

I saw the e-mail address on page 5, so guess I'll just send him an e-mail and see what transpires.

This would be a great knife with the above improvements.

Anybody have a the HTM DDR MAXX 5.5 with the DLC finish? I just picked one up off the bay, and its sterile, yet all other pics I've seen have a marking on the blade

I'm pretty sure it should have "HTM-DDR" on the blade, like this one from knifeart.

You have to be real careful on the bay. It's not coming from China is it?

Nope, it came from NY. Ive used ebay for years and scoped this knife out for a while, guess i spaced out and noticed it being sterile once i got it. Ive seen some pics on the forums of sterile non DLC maxx's but no pics at all of the dlc htm's so i wanted to compare before i do something about it. Everything else seems perfect on this knife, maybe I should send it in to DDR and have it verified one way or the other.

I probably missed it in this thread, but what does DR do on the hand-tech made knives (as opposed to making the entire knife per his 'regular' models)? The price is more affordable and they look great to me!

I'm guessing there's more 'machining' involved & less 'hands on' finishing.

I just sent an email for a quote on this one:

MADD MAXX IV 3" CF SPEAR POINT

I've corresponded with Darrel before about this one,but I never fully committed to it because of the wait time(at least a year, maybe more).
After drooling over it for months,I've decided to put the order in & wait,wait,wait...:o

I'm loving my satin 5.5 MAXX...money well spent. Friggen pocket sword/spear.

John I got the manual version because just like the joker above this, I'm a wave-aholic. :)

I had a 5.5 stiletto MAXX in D2. Sold it about 5 years ago. Stupid. Wish I had it back. They didn't have assisted models then. I need another one now, especially since I'm looking for a large folder again. Nice pics in this thread. DDR is definitely a maker with vision.
