Dating a Kalinga?

Thank you David for the detailed info. I was looking for a ‘70 as birthday gift and this came up and I couldn’t pass. ‘70-‘72 is close enough.

Even the latch is the same as on the standard early kalinga box. I believe it to be legit. It's just that I have never seen one before. Very nice and very interesting.
 
Hey guys, trying to date this Buck Kalinga. From what I read here, because this has Micarta handle material, It is pre-1981, but just wondering if there any other clues that could date it. Also, do any of y'all want to make me an offer on it? It's clearly never been sharpened or used, and is in pristine condition, and I could send more pics if needed.
