I've been waiting to respond hoping for a picture of the knife. Congrats and WELL DONE! I can't think of anyone who makes a finer Damascus. :)Maybe when I grow up I will come close to your skills.

It was a pleasure to finally meet you in Little Rock last winter. Hope to see you again soon.

Again congrats my friend ...... All the accolades are well deserved

Wow. That's good stuff! Missed it at the Show. Glad I get to see it here now, it's worth seeing! My, that is some fine damascus. Just amazing to see what a talented guy can come up with, just when you think there's nothing new under the sun in the damascus world!

Gotta keep an eye on this guy's work! Great stuff, Dave!

Thank you all very much for the kind words Joe thank you for adding my split rings to this thread The Split ring design was born thanks to all of you. after little rock and the feed back I got on the ring D guard I just kept thinking about new ways to make ring guards and one morning as I was waking up this popped into my head I was working on knives for blade that day and I went right down to the shop and started playing with cardboard I spent two days making the first guard out of wrought iron and really liked how it came out so on the next knife I did it in damascus if you held the knife at blade please chime in the knives where well received they fell great in the hand and or well balanced I sold both the ring guards and took two orders for wrought iron ring guards with stag. and I am looking forward to making them. So a gig thanks to all of you that commented on the Ring d guard it gave me the juice I needed to push forward and come up with the split ring.

LOVE that split ring guard design. That's one of those things that when you see it you smack yourself on the head wondering why it hadn't been thought of before. It's clever, efficiently economical in its engineering, and beautiful in its natural look. Form and function blending perfectly into art.

Thanks Joe for posting the pics! I've been eagerly chomping at the bit to see the knife... and, of course, it's staggering!

Jim your photographic treatment is spot on!
