This thread has managed to make me feel inspired, awed, and talentless - all at the same time.

Incredible talent.

so STeven, now that we are all kumbaya and all that :p

...should i repost the pic of my Broadwell/Foster laminated subhilt ??

As I recall, that one may have led to "style" issues ;)

Bill

Bill,

As I recall at the time, you did not have a problem with my chiming in, but David did, a bit.

There are more than a few makers and sheath makers that will absolutely attest that I can be a pain in the ass when I know what I want, because my aesthetic senses are very developed, and sometimes it pushes the maker to go in a direction that is counter to their natural flow....invariably in the last few years, the results have been, of course imo, outstanding.

Doesn't mean I'm right though;):D;)!

You posted your knife, I'll not comment.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

STeven

you are right, I didn't have a problem with you then and don't now :p

not that I think you are right, or anything like that......

I have to say, overall, I think you have a great deal of knowledge about custom knives and you are certainly not shy about sharing. You are occasionally a little over the top...but I enjoy pretty much everything you write

David is a great guy and he does beautiful work - and his work is recognizable from across the room, which I personally like - Don Fogg, Burt Foster and some others have that same "personal style" thing going.

Thanks for starting this thread

Bill

I've always thought his work was brilliant. Les Robertson has promoted him for a long time. I love the lines.

What a fine thread David's knives have a look all there own I can spot a Broadwell from across the room. He made a few of his knives with some of my steel and for me that was an honor.

I have really enjoyed all these pics of David's great knives - and hope to see more. Call me greedy.

I've enjoyed seeing David's work for a number of years. Only had several pieces and what a joy to look at and handle.

Thanks for bumping this one, I somehow missed the first round. These are spectacular images of David's knives, very appealing to me.

Wow Michael, those are all terrific. The bowie with carved, wire-wrapped ivory handle...

Roger

Man David does outstanding work, thank you all for posting the pics...very inspirational.

Here's a better shot of the handles, Roger.
(I guess I mean bigger not necessarily better)
