I have a David Mosier liner lock flipper folder with black micarta handle scales, dovetailed titanium bolsters, and a satin S30V fighter grind blade for trade. In my opinion, David is one of the truly underrated knifemakers around. From what I have handled of his work, I would rank his build quality and fit and finish in the top echelon of all tactical/utility folder makers.
This particular flipper is perhaps the most impressively built piece of his that I've seen yet. It is built tough, with a 3/16" thick blade and titanium liners that measure at least .100" thick, yet it fits comfortably in the hand thanks to David's skillful radiusing of the edges of the handles.
The Mosier listed here has never been carried, used, or resharpened, and the original edge on it from David is sharp. The flip action is very smooth and requires no wrist action, the lock-up is rock solid, and the blade centering is dead perfect.
The specs:
Condition: Mint
Blade length: 4 1/8" from tip to handle
Overall length: 9 3/8"
Blade thickness: 3/16" at ricasso
Blade steel: S30V
Blade finish: Handrubbed flats, satin grinds
Edge: Plain
Bolsters: Titanium, beadblasted
Handle scale material: Black micarta
Lock: Titanium liner lock, beadblasted
Backspacer: 3 stand-offs, satin finished
Clip: Tip up, stainless steel, handrubbed
I will consider trades (with appropriate cash adjustment) for custom folders and custom balis. I am especially interested in the following makers:
JL Williams
Tim Galyean
Charles Marlowe
Bob Lum
Sal Manaro
Kit Carson
Deryk Munroe
Gerry McGinnis
Scott Cook
Jim Burke
Ernie Emerson
Rick Hinderer
Jim Smyth
DB Fraley
Matt Cucchiara
Todd Begg
Tom Mayo
Neil Blackwood
Ken Onion
Phil Boguszewski
Flavio Ikoma (balis only)
Mauricio Dobruski (balis only)
I may consider trades for other custom folders not listed above. However, I am not interested in serrated blades, production knives, or fixed blades other than those by John Young or Russ Andrews.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking!
