De-Ramped Beckers - The Sexy, Sexy Thread

ok, so i'm a noob to the forum, so please be gentle (or not). this is my bk10 which i modified as you can see. I like the bk2 quite a bit, but I prefer the 3/16" of the crewman. I ground down the modified clip point more similar to a drop point, and removed extended pommel and the thumb ramp. It's still a work in progress. Formerly a crewman, i call my version a Bushman, it's my one knife option when i choose to leave the BK16 and BK9 at home.

Here ya go Munzer. She's a beaut alright. Very nice work. Welcome to the forum.

Much appreciated Warrior. Not sure why my picture didn't show up, but then again, I am a noob.

Love that 7, Jedi. Especially the squared guard. I say skip the mirror polish.

This was my first attempt at modifying a knife. I am still and going to finish polishing the blade a little more, and cleaing up the butt end of the handle. Everything by hand, quite the level of effort, but well worth it. Any recommendations on how to change the color of the micarta. I've read some threads and watched a couple youtube vids about cooking up color dye and soaking the scales in it for a few minutes.

Nice work, Munzer.
Polishing grinding marks out of an already hardened knife is not for the faint of heart.

Loving this thread so far. Trying to find some time in the next few weeks to grind off the ramps on my 7-10-12 at my buddies shop. Really like the deramped 10s!

Bring some elbow grease too. When i started working on the knife, the final shape just sort of emerged. But strangely enough, it ended up like i wanted. So grab a knife and grinder and let sparks fly!

You guys are seriously tempting me to grab a knife and hit the grinder!

Hahaha same here mate!

That’s a nice job! Kind of what i'm looking for. My Camillus BK7 is already stripped and with a small coil. Messing with the Dremel will give a quick result. But I’ll start with a flat-file followed by a small rat-tail for a better job.

Dexwithers, can you post some pics of the entire knife?! Will be appreciated.

Here is a shot of my 9 deramped stripped and some Tommythewho scales. Love this blade.

a de-ramped becker with a revolver is called a "John Wayne".
