Deal gone bad!

I would have no problem shipping to Misters Keninshiro or Santi; or anyone they recommended.

Sounds like "Victor Huang/Vampor" has a good little scam going. But most of the people in this world are good people.

Ishai, I'm sorry to read about your problem , but the overseas customer
also takes a risk whn he buys from you. For example I ordered 4 knives
from discountknives but get only 3 and empty box. Because I actually
don't order overseas but via MBE (shipping company which takes me
US shipping address) I don't know who of them in charge of my lost $75 .
Or 3 days ago I get garbage quality BM 875 (I didn't expect from BM)
that I need send back and waste about $35 in spite of my ask to check
all my orders before shipping. But whe worst "surprise" was in
knifecenter and I want ask help to solve it, so it will put as new topic.
So you can see also our "buyers" side can lose.
Good idea can be to both sides buying something cheap in first time,
but that's not always possible.
Hope you next deals will be much more successful.

This is my frist time to notice this title.
I am Victor Huang /Vampor.
I tried to ignore detail and tell the truth.
Lanny's mini socom is my second deal in BF.
First is one buck184, in the first deal ,after I got the knife
the seller told me that he had problem to get money by paypal.
So I sent a fax intertionally to one of his clients to pay him the deal by credit card. Finally he got the money.
Since Hong Kong law is much clear than the mainland China.
So I asked Lanny to send mini socom to Hong Kong. It is impossible for the customs to seize the knife. My friend is in Spremeco ,the biggest knives dealer in the Asia.
They have websites www.supremeco.com.hk and www3.knifeclub.com. So I have done business with my friends
more than 5 thousand US dollars. It is impossible for him to occupy just one mini SOCOM personally. I complain the paypal
just by normal procedure as some friends here told me. It is nearly 30 days or so after I paid. I belive the paypal would got
lanny's reception label copy and checked with the usps. If lanny
really send the knife , no matter the customs got the knife ,or my friend got the knife ,how COULD usps NOT know?
I think I just do what I should do.
About S4supply . I am really disappointed about your words!
Before the deal with you, I sucessfully dealed with Jeff for one LCC DA,and Michael McLaurin for one Timberline specwar, and Matt for one ladyhaw, and Myrna Lemon for one BUCK M9 and
kaploo-e for one AK-47 bayonets. Today I just got a SOCOM DA
with Anthony Lombardo. All these deal goes smoothly.
Yes, my friends has one website that sells knives including MT,MOD etc. Buy they got knives normally through supremeco.
The number is big. Could you think they I covin your knives and gave the knives to them and sell them out? Dam...... How short sight!

So what are you going to do? Send the money once again? Keep it together with the knife? I hope you are going to do the right thing!!!!

I have not got the knife .And I have NEVER got the copy
of reception label of the package sent out. How should I send
out the money again? If I got the knife or evidence that the knife
was stopped in the customs or sent to the address of my friend's office of course I would send the money again.
Yes, he had finished deals with somebody else, but I have finished
deals with somebody else, too. So this is not enough for prove anything.

This is why we are very selective in our international shipments. md

Victor:

I have done 40 to 50+ deals on this Forum including Customs and Sebenzas, and never had a single problem!

You have done 6 to 8 deals and at least 2 have gone bad!

This does prove something.

Now in your other post you say you would prefer people just send you knives, and you will send the money when you get them!

Yeah, right:barf:

BTW, you know I sent you copies of the mail reciept more than once. If it was not a total waste of bandwidth I'd post is here so people on the Forum would know the kind of person they are dealing with. I think they already do.

Maybe we can get Spark to open up a
money (in and knives out) shipping shop.
If he's got the time ;)
could stand to make some bucks doing it.

I've sent knives overseas with no bad deals
but it's in the back of my mind all the time.
just my .02 cents

Victor, now there's a familiar name. If it's the same person, he contacted me a few weeks ago, trying to make a deal on some Buck Striders. I turned him down. It didn't "feel" right, to begin with and, even if I was set up for international sales, (I'm not) I won't have anything to do with China (buying or selling) anyway.

He wanted me to send the stuff to an address in Canada. There were too many red flags to ignore. (No pun intended, it just means that my instincts were all telling me that this wasn't right.)

I have to agree with Fred on this one. While I have done business overseas in the past with a couple of forumites, (Ferret and Heyns), those were exceptions, (And exceptional. I would recommend either of them anytime), I don't, as a rule, sell internationally and don't plan to start. I have plenty of business in this country and don't feel the risk is worth the return.

In deference to Fred's poilteness, I will say that, in my case, it is because of the fraud. Granted, there is risk of fraud over here too but I haven't had a problem with that and there is a lot more chance for recourse here than in a foreign country.

Authorities in many countrys seem to have the attitude that if an American gets burned, "so what? Serves them right". I just don't care to deal with that.

I know that there are a lot of fine folks out there on all sides of the world and the vast majority are honest, straightforward people who would never think of cheating or stealing from anyone but it only takes a couple of jokers to screw up a whole deck. Since this business is my livelyhood, there is no way I can take the risk. I don't have a day job to fall back on.

This case with "Victor" is, in my opinion, a clear vindication of that policy. It would appear that he is one of the people out there who are trolling the forums, looking for victims, knowing that where he is makes him pretty much untouchable.

I have to agree with Dennis Wright here & some others. I havehad success with some forumites overseas.Santi, RedVenom, ShortJohn and a few other guys........Have only had 1 come up missing so far and the customer understood the risk and did not ask me for a refund....As Dennis said, these deals feel "right" with me with these guys but I have turned down others before because my gut instinct told me not to do it. All I can say is I've dealt with Lanny on numerous occasions as a customer and also just chit-chat via email. I've sent Lanny knives before he paid me knowing his word was good. I do not think Lanny would all of a sudden abandon ship and NOT send a knife out to a customer......2 & 2 are not making 4 with Vampor....

Most sellers refuse to consider shipping to the UK. This is a great shame as people like me avoid the for sale forums as I know 99% of the time a deal I want is not going to happen as I live in the UK. The fact that I have NEVER gone back on a deal and that Formites like Nemo have sent me his knives to play with (including his personal Sebenza and numberd Gunting) and have revieved them back with great thanks, fall on deaf ears. If I have to say something, it sounds to me that this was a con. Please don't tar us all with this brush. Hell China is practically the third world compared to Europe or America. Would you send a knife to Africa or the middle east? How about Packistan or India? I would not. We face the same danger sending to the US as you face sending to the UK. Rant over.:(

Geez, General, let's not tar "the rest of the world" with the same brush. Yes, I would ship to "Africa or the middle east" [sic], "Packistan [sic] or India," "China" or anywhere else, however seemingly "third world compared to Europe and America." And I would insure them against loss in the same way I'd insure a package to England, or to New York, San Francisco, or even only 40 miles north to Los Angeles.

I have, in fact, sent packages (not knives) to Bombay, Alexandria, Beijing, and Durban in the past 18 months, with no problems at all.

Anyhow, to get back on-topic, I've posted my reply RE Lshay's unfortunate situation at the current "sister thread," FYI:

I've only just stumbled across all this but let me say a huge thanks to all the guys with the positives. :)
The mail CAN and WILL screw us all around eg I sent the kindly Dennis Wright a money order (pre paypal) which took around 8 weeks to arrive...no damage done though, as we were following the "money in hand, ship later" policy (thanks Dennis, I still wear the t shirt :)). You've gotta get a tracking number, the extra expense is worth it...to this day I have a sour feeling over a deal where I paid for tracked shipping yet it was shipped without....natch, the knife never arrived and although I did get a refund it was somehow my fault and the money was "spat" at me. :(
You'll find us overseas guys often trying extra hard to encourage overseas sales, with lower prices or us paying the shipping etc. At the moment there's $ from Dawkind to me for a ferretknife that's been swallowed by the mail and if it doesn't turn up soon I'll just send him the knife and we'll sort it out later.
It's a fragile balance and one or 2 bad deals will screw it up for us all...I hope this matter does get resolved to both parties' satisfaction.

Ferret:

I would have no problem ever, ever dealing with you or Santi or any of the other regular Forumites that live over the big ponds. I have a deal pending right now with Jonas :) The problem with this deal was that IMHO Victor/Vampor is an a**. I did not even mind losing the knife/money as much as I minded his lies (I can post copies of all the scans of the post office receipts, tracking etc here if I feel like wasting the bandwidth). What did it for me was his complete refusal to ever even say "Sorry you are out the knife and the money". I apoligise to another Forumite if I miss the post office due to working late and end up shipping a day later than I'd planned. Most of us do:) This is an awesome group of individuals and to have one (who's stories make no sense and change regularly) feel that since USPS or Hong Kong customs or whoever:rolleyes: lost my knife he has no responsibility whatsoever (he initiated the transaction) to even say "Sorry dude" just sucks:mad:

Pretty strange how after 5 months and with the Postal Inspectors closing in, the knife Patrick shipped just 'happens' to show up:barf:

My advice is never, ever deal with this jerk. He does not even deserve to be a part of a community as generally cool as this one:D

Well said. Sometimes it is better to not trade until you know the person or he has proven a genuine interest and integrity in collecting. Sometimes you have to put your money where your mouth is!:D

I would be dubious about such a person to say the least, looks like a duck, quacks like a duck...

Ooops , my apologies Ishay, I got rambling about how it affects me rather than you!:)
You're right, dubious would be a polite way to describe what's happening.

What seems to have caused me to waive a red flag is the post about the MT vector. Is it Strange, or just Coincidence that Victor is right in the middle of the vector Deal and there it is on a Web-site in china. I am gonna wave MY red flag as this stretches coincidence way too far to the "East' for me. Hey Vic, where DID that Vec COME FROM???????wolf:rolleyes:
