That's very polite. I remember a few shark bites that were painful to watch.
Once or twice or three times I've REALLY really wanted a blade and a faster smarter, richer fish got there first. I had to laugh at myself; almost 50 year old kid deflated cause he didn't get the shiny thing he wanted.

but it was.....so shiny.

Shiny is good! :)

Seriously, I truly don't mind (too much!) being outsharked by someone who I know truly appreciates the blade, but it drives me nuts when someone with 3 posts snags a one-of-a-kind jewel and then says he doesn't know anything about "kuks" and is going to give it to his Great Uncle Quigley for a wall hanger, or is going to use it to dig potatos or something. ;)

But, as I have said before, it must have been meant for him, and everyone has to start somewhere!

maybe 3 posts, but he does apparently collect khuks for a while now, yes? so even if it's a potato digger, it's being used well :)

now, what kills me is that something sits for hours, or days, and then the next deal is delayed as a result. it's the duty of all you guys with spare moneyh to buy buy buy so the pretty stuff flows even faster. yes. precious shinies. in the case of that penknife, we've been seeing things like that that i've never heard of, and are definitely HI exclusives, so it makes it harder to know if they are covetable or not. most are. bolo like knives are good too. zombie mashers are great!

I don't know how to call it either. I've watched so many wonderful, beautiful, sparkling, singing, liquid soul calling essence heart ringing symbiosis khukuris 18 " and 28 ounces with just the 'right' sweep to the angle go for about 90 bucks on sale here and NOT HAD NINETY DARN DOLLARS IN MY POCKET AT THE TIME I COULD JUST CRY.

I mean, they are shiny....

munk

It's not just about khukuris, you know.

was just noticing that that BDC is all white metal too.

call me non traditional? but i seem to prefer that white metal, especially with darker colored handles, than the brass. if they did white metal with an ebony type wood - oh boy!

Here in Atlanta ebony is $100 per board foot. A board foot is a one inch thick piece of wood that is 12"x12". That handle would almost double the cost of the khukuri!!!

ebony type... doesn't have to be actual ebony, just strong and dark and smooth. there's a couple woods, like persimmon (american ebony so called) might work, or osage orange in natural (white/orange) that could be stained well :)

i'm sure horn is costly too here, but not necessarily at HI headquarters?
