I just picked up a villager cak by Thamar a month ago that is very similar to the param dui chirra. I can tell you this is a very comfortable user size. Mine cuts like a light saber and balances in the hand perfect. Whomever picks this one up will probably find it's one their favorite user khukuries.

Thats quite a unique Dui Chirra. It differs greatly from my Thamar piece. It's very cool looking, the Purna Chainpurti looks like a fighting machine.

Looks like a stealth shark I reckon. Nobody mentions it thus far.

She's a nice one. If I'd of scored it I would have pulled the sack right off from my head and shouted it to the word myself.

Am I right to say that a Gopte is supposed to be a bigger/heavier Hanshee?

The Gopte always reminded me of a well finished DBUVK ... They have identical fuller designs. The Hanshee is more along the lines of an early 1800's Chhetri style fighting kukri made for the ruling class. The Hanshee pictured in HI's catalog is actually a partial tang which is more condusive to fighting than chopping although it is definitely capable.

Hanshee is much more boomerang.

I shall seek a picture.

Hanshee on bottom.

Hi guys
Got Bawanna's message and decided to join the forum! I've been sharking here since the last week of December and this Gopte is my 8th HI buy since the HIKV hit me hard in the silly season! That's about 2 kukris a week since I bought the first one around Christmas!

Wow! Two a week! I'm jealous.

And another down under mate too.

We done well with the first down under mate, reckon we'll do fine with this one too.

Glad you decided to take the sack off and show yourself.

Welcome and keep on sharking.

And toothless now!
It's mainly been the small onse - 2 10 inch, 1 kumar Karda, 1 12 inch BDC, 1 14.5 inch Gopte, 1 baby Kobra by Sher, 1 15 inch Angkhola, 1 17 inch Purna yek Chirra and now this 16 inch Gopte with CAK handle.

I,m built more like a Nepalese at just 5'7" and find the smaller kukris more suitable for my hands and strength.

The Purna handle is a bit too large for my hsnds and the weight at 32 ounces is too much for me to handle comfortably.

So hope this Gupte at 22 ounce will be just right for me, though the handle does look at little large in the picture.
