Wow, beautiful folder, very unique. Whats the blade length?

It's 3 5/8". Nice size. The polished G10 looks almost like Micarta, but obviously much stronger. Corby was in his heyday in the 80's after he did the "Cobra" D-handle guard knife for the movie, but was making knives way before then. I have one of his 25 year old Davy Crockett Bowies as well as a Viking Bowie from about 12 years ago, both subhilts, but this is my first folder of his.

That's a great YCS! It even has a non-chiruwa handle, just like Yvsa intended it to.

Look close, it's got the chiruwa handle. The weight is also a giveaway that it has one. Just hard to see in the pic...

I'm not fessing up. I believe in voodoo.

But I will share a quote from Robert Heinlein's Lazarus Long:

"Get a shot off- fast. This upsets him long enough to let you make your second shot perfect."

My boss told me today he used to carry a "rat shot" cartridge (probably one of those CCI ones) under the hammer in an EDC. He said it would "make the other guy think he'd been hit, and he'll freak."

I thought it made a lot of sense. Sometimes a really fast shot IS what counts.

Sportsmanship is a part of fun, sogguy. When somebody outdraws me, I congratulate 'em.
It's just a rusty, smelly knife, after all. :p Bura will make another.

I promise I'll post pix of it if you leave the pins out of the doll.

And Sassas? I'll trade you an oh-so-fragrant 14" Neem BDC for your Falcata...that's the one got away from me.

OK, no pins and congratulations! Whould just a little lipstick and some eye shadow be to painful?
I got over the loss instantly, but I do believe in tagging the "Snarks" so we can measure and track there movements.

Maybe on the doll. I'd look hysterically funny in drag/makeup.

Well, sad, really. Like a hooker nobody would want to pick up.

YCS set...

the 18 inch AK showed up today, just now. very interesting. longest handle i've seen yet, blade outline is nearly exactly the same the 17.5 inch GRS, the 1/2 difference is in the handle. blade seems QUITE sharp, but i'm sure the initial edge will probably wear down some until the "good metal" y'all talk about, and then will stay. there's some strange greasy buffing marks still left on the blade that won't wipe off - will scotch bright later. love the half double fullers. chakma and karda look like they're undersized even for such tools - they almost fall down inside their little storage holes (these days, i'm almost wishing for 1/2-3/4 sized ycs like k & s tool, or even room lengthwise for a small puuko type blade; it's the handle size really - need a utility blade a lot)

today's project, as i have time, slowly but surely put better edges on the GRS twins, and polish up and examine the AK closely.

next!

My sisau wood villager BAS arrived today.
For a villager, it's a beauty. It is much nicer than it appears on the pic.
The handle is very comfortable and the sisau wood feels just like the saatisal.
Looks very similar too. No wonder that both are frequently advertised as Indian Rosewood or sheesham in the furniture trade.
Bura did a great job on this one too.

Thank You, Yangdu.

Now, if I could only shark the yesterday's DOD 17.5" saatisal villager, I would have my dream pair of villagers.
Oh well, I hope ther will be a next one... :) :o
And, no... I have no HIKV at all. :o :D
