No, I have plenty of those little guys and actually need to part with some to get more goodies. Right now there is a giant sucking sound from my bank account to Reno...

I was after that lil JKM myself. Its the small one with the antler handle that you got. Good grab, ever want to part with it let me know.

Billy

WOW! Missed on four seperate items, better run to Walgreens for my Anti-Depressants, maybe the liquor store.
How do you "veterns" handle this?

Dick

It all gets better once you go broke...right Norm?

Mail sent on BAS. You guys are going to love the JKM. See other thread. Make yourself a dangler, its the easiest one night in front of the TV project you can ever imagine. Good sharking gents. Yangdu, your company is the best...period. I think todays knives, and all this week too have been masterpieces. The JKM I got last week is beautiful, and maybe the sharpest I've ever gotten any edge.   ;)

Did you get the other one?

I don't think I'll be letting it go any time soon :)

I got all the other little guys, great for the kids to play with...

The Sher Attitude? Now that is a Shark's knife.

The KK's are looking nice these days too.

Yep, I think it was Nasty who first said that "debt is good!"

I know that's somewhat true when it comes to knives but I had to draw the line today. I am broke on top of being broke. Maybe I can crawl out of the hole a bit next month but until then you guys are free to break yourselves.

Like I mentioned in another thread once, someday we'll all be living under a bridge pushing our shopping carts along all filled with gleaming khukuris. We may be eating mulligan stew and wearing tattered clothes but we'll have lots to talk about, and plenty of knives to play with.

Have to keep our priorities straight. :D

Whoopee! Got the 12" Sgt. Khadka. I'm just going to sharpen this baby up to a razor edge, leave it in the kitchen and see what happens. It's my best candidate so far for a kitchen khuk. The 15" PK I got in DOTD last week will definitely chop wood, and it's unbeatable as a box cutter. But I needed something just a little smaller for........ There's no end to it. HIKV!

Does anyone know what the bladelength is on the JKMs? Specifically, do they come in at under 3"?

The shorter of my two JKM's (pictured in a current thread) has a 4.5" blade.

Edited...Oh yea I forgot to say I got the villager BAS. Its my 3rd BAS. My first was a chiruwa by Sgt. Khadka. My second I got from John Powell on e-bay and it came from shop #1 according to Norm. So now I'll have a villager one by the new kami. All horn. Pretty good set. Didn't set out to collect BAS, but the design keeps oozing farther and farther up the scale for me. That Khadka may be my carry knife this camping season. It feels like a friggin' porche.

Got my 3 lil amigo's today, man the stag on that Karda is awesome! Almost looks and feels like mammoth ivory. I'll take some pics of them tomorrow, also the wood on the JKM is beautiful. The small Khuk has a white marbled look to it. How is the JKM supposed to be carried with its supplied sheath? Last but certainly not least the medallion is beautiful. I can't wait to set up my HI Khuk display around it.

Thank you Yangdu! Lightning fast shipment and awesome DOTD!

Billy, that sounds cool.;) What a delivery. I would have felt like a kid at Christmas.

I received my villager BAS yesterday. What a beauty. The new Kami does fantastic work. His handle is as well done as a Khadka. Thats saying something. Its horn, so it went into the mineral oil bath last night and won't come out for a few days. It is most definitely my prettiest horn specimen. Its got all kinda wavy looking green patterns in it and if you hold it up to the light, the ring is translucent green. I can't stop handling my little BAS collection.

mineral oil huh? what's the procedure? drop the whole blade in? just the handle? i just wiped some blades down with mineral oil and was deliberately being careful to not get any on the horn - laugh - go figure.

mmmm

My method comes directly from Dave Rishar. I have a large plastic FALCONS cup that came from the stadium. I fill it 75% full of mineral oil and put the handle in. I like the oil to come up above the bolster. I leave it in there for 2-3 days, then clamp it into the vice and let the oil drain back into the cup for a day or so. Then wipe and allow to dry. Then I do danish oil on the horn.

mmm, i think the dollar store has mineral oil. i think two for a dollar. mmm...

also, superglue in multiple packets, though for $4, i can hit a hobby/craft store and get a full oz of quality stuff. mmmm.

Is this treatment better than "hooflex"?

Dick

 OOPS I'm confused, mineral oil for antler and horn or hooflex for horn only and mineral oil for both if you want? lol??
