Deals for 3/27 -- Pix and five beauties

IIRC - they come from China or India in big barrels. Since the kamis have no idea what it means...that's what we get. Doesn't bother me...but I do find it amusing....:D :p

Who got the R5?

I still think Yvsa was behind it...super-secret Moderator powers they haven't told me about.

Yes, I wouldn't say it has similarities so much as that it is a very good copy! Although it is a bit smaller than the Schrade I think.

I guess I'd (respectfully) differ. Size and materiials appear different, as well as the HI version appearing considerably thicker in the blade and being forged. There are also apparent grind differences. Although the inspiration of the Sharpfinger is undeniable, I don't think anyone would mistake one for the other.

That R3 would be a kind of a mini-trail guide for sure. The originals had a 4.5" blade of A2 and about a 4.5-5" handle:

My old Trail Guide has a black micarta handle. I got it when BlackJack was still in business, back before it the Trail Guide so many endorsements and became so sought after. It's been a good knife. It had a wicked convex edge on it when I got it. The sheath got somewhat cut up from just resheathing. I just recently put a comparable edge back on with the belt sander.

If you'd like Howard, I've a very good friend who could put an edge on it so close to original that you'd swear it was the same guy...

Um...the State of Oklahoma?
YUP! On both my Munk Cleaver and the Buntan the snaps had a star and the words State of Oklahoma around the edges. That same star is on all the snaps of these knives. Just wondering if OK is branching out?

E-mail sent on the R4. I sure like that handle shape.

You've got to be kidding! Let him have all the fun? Heck, I have to go out now and cut sod with my knives just so I'll have something to sharpen.

I just got a 42" belt sander, with 100 grit, 20 micron, 5 micron, and leather belts. I've been sharpening everything, breathing in all kinds of bad stuff, neglecting my family and my job, etc., etc., ...

It's all the fault of the HI forum.

gone blamit !
all those up there while Im asleep in bed.
This really sucks.
I only get the detritus these days, the frothy red water and bits of skin...

I like the R5 and R6 the most, nice to see new and exciting things coming from HI!

Point to ponder - Inspiration is like money.

It circulates..

Lovely little knives - all of them. Can feel the fingers twitching already:confused:

The R3 and R5 caught my eye. I have to keep telling myself, "I have enough knives", ugggggg.

Neat stuff, Yangdu!

R7. Okay, I can die happy now. I just saw a HI Sharpfinger. The Schrade Sharpfinger was my first decent, classic knife. Gots to get me one of these. If I was in the office yesterday, I'd have wrestled you for it!!

I think alot of us would have gone for that R7. Would have been quite the frenzy. I'll wrestle you for it shann, I wasnt the one who got it unfortunatly, and I wont wrestle you for my R3.

I went for the R7 within seconds of the post. Literally 10 seconds from post to email. No thinking. "Already sold" a minute later.

Eric.

An awesome new zombie killer...er..."Stick Knife". A new design by the new shop manager Raj. It measures 15 1/4" at its longest point, 2 1/2" wide at the point...um...end. It's a hair over 3/8" thick and although I have no scale, I'd estimate it at around 26 ounces. The handle is thick enough to be comfortable for me (large hands) and it has a definite hump to positively position in *two* different grips...one for full power and one for a choked up grip. Just got it here, so no work report yet...but I will soon!

Great work...an awesome design and I can see this as the usual one that will be found out back next to the fire pit for chopping sticks to length and splitting for the fire.

Thank you Yangdu, Raj and kamis!
