I just chopped the preliminary work on a log with my own 18" and 29 ounce Balance Model and I'm happy. Very, very nice handling tool. I can't wait until tomorow for a full work out and report.

If anyone is still reading this old thread, and has a tentative single finger on the keyboard regarding whether or not to buy a khukuri, this Balance model at 140 bucks rings the bell loud and clear.

Surprised to see this sitting here myself. I got the first in horn at my leisure as no one seemed to want it, paid $150 for it and as far as I'm concerned got a great deal. No pun intended, but it balances beautifully and _wants_ to chop. This is one that I will definitely get a second one of in a different handle material, and I only do that with some models. I was lucky and got some pretty white horn in mine, but other than that this one could be it's twin.

Eric, go for it. Send an email even if Yangdu can't read them now, and try calling on the phone- yeah- a phone message is just as good.

You will never regret owning a Balance.
