I gotta have one while I'm waiting for the one I really want. Email coming!

Thanks, Stickfred..
I've been waiting/wanting a long blade for awhile. I have a 17" cobra already, but really wanting a 20"+ :)

I'll see if this is still there...

"21 inch 33 ounce Gelbu Special by Santosh Kami. Satisal wood handle. Ideal wedding gift for your loved one at $125 YBB".....Never thought about it being a "wedding gift"...I love to marry some kind of meat to my BBQ! :D

Guess I celebrated too soon. Got an email saying it was long gone. So do you post first that you want it or send an email first? Guess I don't know how things work. Oh well. Congrats to the one that snagged it.

Liveitloud,
I've posted both ways: Email Yangdu first, post on the forum first...
I always email through both Blade Forums, and Himalayan Imports.
Super

we have a number of stealth sharks, like Longbow, who don't post first and just email.
There are no rules when it gets right down to it but a gentleman would post first...

still don't know if I got the seax... likely she is waiting to see if someone else wants it too.
she will sell it to them as I pile them up and pay later. I understand and deal with it.

Thanks guys I appreciate the info. I figured I should post my intent first and then follow up with an email. Thought that would be the right way to handle it. Guess I was mistaken.

A Gentleman Shark??!!
Since I live here in Reno...I just go over and watch Yangdu take the photos of what she is going to post and then get ready.....lol...:D....JUST KIDDING :o.

I always post on the forum if I'm after something

you were not mistaken, I feel the same way and do this and will continue to do this until I have nothing else to buy. I'd like to get an Indonesian Sword and fill out my "R" series knives and then unless something spectacular shows up, I would be mostly watching. But, I will post then email each time I see something because I just think this is the best way to show others what you are doing and to save a lot of frustration like Liveitloud and others have felt when something has been sold to someone who just email without taking the time to say so here.

Again, this is just my opinion and how I feel, not some rule. ;)

There really is no reason we can't be civil about this stuff...

Liveitloud,

Long before 2:30pm, open MS Word (or whatever program you use) and type an email like this:
------------------------------------------------------------
Yangdu,

I would like the ________ from the 7/21 deal of the day.

Thanks,
Sign it
(Copy it)
------------------------------------------------
Then open your email program and paste what you wrote above. Set aside.

Then open your web brouser and go to Blade Forums and go into HI. At about 2:25, you can start to watch the bottom of the page and see if Yangdu is logged on. If she is, she is typing the post, get ready. You now must hit refresh every 30 seconds and wait for her to post the Deal of the Day. Now all you have to do is write the name of the kukri you want and hit send on your email program. Then go down to the Quick Reply box below Yangdu's post (and probably under Warty too), and type [ctrl P] and then write in the kukri you ordered and click [post quick reply.]

You have now selected your kukri, sent an email to Yangdu and posted on the forum all within 30 seconds of Yangdu's post. Then quickly go to paypal and as soon as you send the money, email Yangdu with a quick, "payment sent" email. You should have a reply from Yangdu by now telling you that you won it. Then quickly go back to the forum and post that "you got it" with a sarcastic smiley. Annnnnnnd breath.

Perhaps a gentleman would post first and email later but if I want something I email first and post after. The rule has always been that first email gets it...why delay?

"A Gentleman Shark??!!" That's a good one Superintendent. Actually since you live so close to the Shack, you could do what Rusty used to do. He'd swing by to visit Bill and at times would leave with a day or two's worth of DOTD in his vehicle.

When sending Auntie an email for a DOTD you need to include the following: Your Forum name,or at least, Your Real name, Your address, Method of payment, Item wanted from what DOTD.
This is for Aunties convienience.
If you do not include these items in full you may lose out to the person who has sent an email with all these things included.
Instructions for Ordering are posted in the link library for a reason.

shortwinger, +1 I can do both on the same breath of air and both will hit faster than your browser can refresh:D I just leave the sarcasm out. Some days I can sit around and poach some days I can't, seams that what I want has been showing up on days I can't like Monday.
