Deals for 7/28 -- Pix, Seax and Awesome Buys

Actually, when you go to the site, himalayan-imports.com, click the link "khukuris" (as opposed to visit our shop), you're brought to a page (http://www.himalayan-imports.com/khuk1.html) with a bunch of products offered by HI. There are links that one can click, that link to the old andale store. I made the mistake a while back myself.
AHHHA! thank you Quig, i've found the links and hopefully they will be disabled or linked to the proper site soon.

I don't understand how people are getting to the andale site. When you google Himalayan Imports, the Yahoo site is the first one on the page. When you go to the H.I. web page the link to the store is for the yahoo site also. I suspect that you guys are accessing a cached page.

Well, it was a brand new computer when I first found HI, hard to believe there was already a chached site in my browser, which I had also newly installed. I guess though since you are sure here, you must be right. I will simply say that I am not quite as sure as you are that this site is fool proof since this fool found a way to break it. ;)

I guess you found them, saves me the trouble of going back and figuring out what I did in the first place.. Thanks Quig!

I had the same confusion when I was first looking around at the site whenever I clicked on those older links. It took me a little while to learn to navigate around the two sites. The FAQ page is a little rough too. With many of the links no longer valid I gave up trying them only to find that ones at the very bottom were still working and lots of good info.

Quiggifur, Welcome to the Forum-we're glad to have you. Lots of good stuff here from pictures to drool over, unexpected knowledge shared, to a variety of musings that can make you wonder if you're on a knife forum.

Well I'm glad it got worked out. I was starting to think I was nuts. Everytime I went to a knife I wanted I got that page. So I guess that the only way to purchase from the site is to use the bar of buttons on the left.

I wish a lot of the pix were still there but so many have been moved due to limited server space. Understandable but still sort of sad, especially when they are posted into a thread like a sticky link review or a special information sticky link thread of photos. I guess though time and tide wait for no man. I have virtually unlimited server space so it is pretty likely that my pix will remain at least until I pass and quit paying the bills. ;)

It may take some time to get this old store suff squared away, but i've contacted the person who does this stuff for Auntie and hopefully he will be able to redirect them or disable the links. I would like to thank all of you for helping to finally figure this problem out.

Hope you get it worked out Karda. Hope you don't think I was complaining because I wasn't. As a newcomer I want to make a purchase and it can get a little confusing when you can't navigate the site or get to what you think you want to.

I am hardheaded enough to stick around until I find the right knife but I would certainly hate to think that others might not have the wherewithal and try elsewhere. I'm hanging in until I find the one regardless.

I may have to pick up something to play with in the meantime but I want a HI Khukuri.

I know you were complaining and i'm glad you were. :D :D
Auntie has gotten several emails and warty has been telling her the store didnt work. The thing is when her and i checked the store out, we couldnt find anything wrong, as we werent aware that the old andale links were still there. It took me dragging it out of youz guys to figure out what the heck was going on. Auntie does her best but Computer tech is very confusing for her and i'm no computer whiz myself.

I should have sent my detailed email to you then, my bad but I didn't know you then.

heck, buy a couple and try them out in the meantime, they sell well on the secondary mkt too if you don't like them...

I hear ya. I'm lucky to log onto my computer each day. I am by no means a wiz at site management.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm not exactly new to HI though, bought my first (a CAK), must have been somewhere about six years ago. Could be longer, but I'm terrible with time. I recently got myself an M-43 as well, but after having held it in my hand, I'm thinking I went a little big for what I really need (which I'm now thinking to be either a dui chirra or an ASTK in the area of 15"). The M-43 is a beautiful blade though, and I just might have to adjust my thinking to allow for it.

Well Quiggifur its good to have you out of the shadows. With six or more years of khuk ownership I'm sure you've got some good input to share. The M43 was one of the models that I returned to Yangdu-just didn't feel like it belonged in my hand. The ASTK is a good khuk for a second choice. If you like the curved blade (a la M43), and not knowing what you have, the 18" BGRS is a good choice. Used it to limb out some major pine that broke from snow and it cuts very well. May hang a little but it cuts where you want it to. Whatever you decide will be fine, I'm sure.

The website has been fixed for the most part and should be good to go.
I already know of the one link that was missed, below the H.I. Ring.
I also know about most of the links that are broken there, as far as reviews and pics.

If anyone finds anything else wrong, Please notify me by email or PM, with a detailed description of what you've found and where on the site/page you found it.

Thanks guys!
