Deals for 7/28 -- Pix, Seax and Awesome Buys

I simply copy and paste the text from the DOTD post into and email with the same subject line, name and address are already there and hit send along with telling her to pile it with my other things. Then, once a month I have it all sent in one big package to me to save a few pennies on shipping. This is with the understanding that once in a while someone who wants it NOW will get it over me and I accept this as fine. There will always be another one. ;)

Thanks Karda. I did send all the information in your post and asked for Yangdu's paypal info to send payment. I just was not aware that the first email, not post gets it.

I guess I may end up on the short end of the stick in the future too because to me it is more polite to post first so that is what I will continue to do before I send the email. Who know, maybe I'll get lucky. :D

shortwinger you may have given me a tool better thank the khukuri I didn't get. I am going to get a word doc ready for the next round. Thanks!!!

why not just save a draft email and cue it up then paste directly into the email and hit send? I reset this "draft" every day on; my server, my workstation and my blackberry when I have my morning cup of coffee. Takes less than 30 seconds to do all 3.
Actually I'm running s Psyop on Yangdu to see if she'll change her predictable behavior:D But its all in good fun. I thinking of sending an email before she posts with a SWAG as to the DOTD its a joke that may backfire on me but again it would all be in good fun.

Wow you guys are really on top of this stuff haha. Talk about having your bases covered. Hell, I just want to snag my first Khukuri. Funny you would mention her behavior. I caught myself yesterday thinking I was smart and wrote down the exact time that she has posted the last 20 deals.

I was on line today because I figured it was in the time zone for her.


What is it they say about best laid plans..... ;)
 
Just remember that posts to the forum are not seen right away. Yangdu would have to keep refreshing every second to see all the posts coming in. More than likey, she is checking and replying to emails as they come in. I know this because when I got my WWII she replyed to my first email within seconds and then replyed to my "payment sent" email just a few seconds later and she had already received a conformation from paypal.

The post to the forum is just to let everyone know you got it. I would "get it" first and then let everyone know later. But thats just me.

Liveitloud, the downside to being that organized and efficient is sometimes you forget to stop and "smell the roses" I multitask so much I have a hard time relaxing. Please don't fall into that trap!
 
I always posted in the forum and then sent an email so that at least everyone knew what was taken and what was still available.
 
Liveitloud, I don't think many would dispute I am a successful shark. I post then email, but maybe I am just fast at it? I think if you look back, I am about the first poster in the DOTD's all the time unless I am sick that day. Which I have been the last couple. I still managed to snag a Karda and a Seax though with spiffy looking Neem handles the look to have some character for once too. I am really looking forward to getting some finish on those to see how they'll turn out.

As long as at some point you post what you snagged, I'd say you are every bit a Gentleman Shark as any of the non-stealthers are... :thumbup::thumbup:
 
Oh believe me, I will post all about it.

I was actually going to buy a new one from the site but most of the links I clicked on said that they do not use whatever service page came up.

I am guessing that this is because the item in not in stock. The ones I didn't want put the item right in an invoice.

Explain please..... It wouldnt let you cart an item or wouldnt take your credit card?
 
Actually Karda, the website is need of a real update.

I only really wound up joining here because the website was so hard to order from... I admit though I am very happy that I did and have met a lot o great folks whom I would not have had I simply gone through the website. There are several broken links and areas where buttons no longer work or add things to a cart properly. I don't remember all of them but I sent a fairly detailed email to Yangdu before, that was when she told me it would be easier to simply join here. I have offered to fix it up for her but at the time there were Kami problems. Perhaps now would be a good time to offer again? I don't want to be paid.

I just checked each and every link....everything carted properly, including the shipping links. All links appear to be working properly. I can add/ remove at will. When i checked follow thru for her a couple of weeks ago, my order went thru fine. I suspect that it is an interaction problem with the browser you're using, your computer or user error itself. For sites i know and trust i still use IE, but i checked it with google chrome as well and everything is fine. The only problem i could find is that it doesnt show item pics when you search an item and the pricing is somewhat low and out of date. When auntie has checked the site, it works properly for her also. I had my son go thru and check everything too and the site worked fine for him.

It would not let me put the item in my basket. I assumed that it was because it was not in stock. I clicked on a link that said "order this item" I think it was for an M43. It happened on several items. I can try to take a screen shot of it when I get home and post if you would like. In the meantime this is what the screen says:

Himalayan imports has not used the andale store for years now. The current Store is thru Yahoo at:

All links from this forum point to the Yahoo.net store.

I was only trying to help and it was neither user error nor a browser issue.

I don't understand how people are getting to the andale site. When you google Himalayan Imports, the Yahoo site is the first one on the page. When you go to the H.I. web page the link to the store is for the yahoo site also. I suspect that you guys are accessing a cached page. :confused:

Actually, when you go to the site, himalayan-imports.com, click the link "khukuris" (as opposed to visit our shop), you're brought to a page (http://www.himalayan-imports.com/khuk1.html) with a bunch of products offered by HI. There are links that one can click, that link to the old andale store. I made the mistake a while back myself.
