Death Chat!!

Anyone up for a hike tomorrow morning, maybe Mission Peak. It would probably take about 2 1/2 hours for those in semi decent shape. Probably wouldnt want to start any later then 9am.

I can't, pretty sure my gf and I are hitting up the last day of the blue grass festival. Man, I've been itching to hike though.

Just got back from doing a light 3.5mile hike on the Sanborn Trail near Castle Rock. It was a pretty cool little hike. I might be down for Mission Peak tomorrow. Will know in a little bit after dinner.

I am tired. Got a movie to watch still and don't really feel like getting up all that early.

J, hope you had a good hike today

FAQ is up! Finally, haha :D Let me know if you guys see anything that should be changed, or if something needs to be added. We'll update the FAQ as we go along.

Thanks Russ ! And for the record. It took so long because my lazy ass didn't have time to go over the first draft that was sent to me months ago.

Ban, i think the FAQ is missing info on how to apply the frosty! :p

Russ, it looks great! I only had a chance to quickly glance it over, but I'll dig into it tonight after I finish up my work stuff.

A good number of y'al are Californians, right? Do any of you live in the L.A. area?

If you do, when is the best time to visit if I want fog and rain? Yeah, odd question, I know.

Good, glad you guys like it! I know there really isn't much there, but I hope it helps give people a little info. The question thread is always open for things that haven't been covered or are too specific for the FAQ. And we can update or change it as needed

Nikokurausu, if you want fog and rain, your best bet is probably coming further North :)

Well, I liked parts of Central and Nor Cal but don't want to live there. The trip is a scouting trip for a possible relocation. The Seattle and Portland areas are on my list too. I like visiting when it's cold and gray. Get enough of the damn sun here in NM.

The FAQ is really well done too. I enjoyed reading it and learning.:)

Michele and I are planning on doing a quick trail run this saturday morning around 10am or so at the Sanborn Trail off Skyline Blvd right across from Castle Rock. It is a pretty easy 3.5 mile hike that takes about 2hrs round trip. I am thinking we can probably run the trail in about 1hr or so. You guys are welcome to join us. It would be pretty cool to hit up the Los Altos shooting range afterwards as it is only 1/2 down from the trail head. Unfortunately, I have to be back at home reorganizing some things and doing some clean up work after the run.

Just trying to find a reason to put my Five Finger Treks to good use other than just walking the track.

like i keep saying, you should make a sword. instead of just ban running through the trail, you'll be a ninja. you also already have a m4 ninja star. ;)

haha speaking of ninjas, i have to post this for anybody who's never seen it.

Back from moosehunting. No moose for me. But the buscraft contest knife excelled in skinning the four moose we got. Sadly the blunted ti pikal didn't live up to expectations. Worked ok along the legs but where the skin got thicker it got to a halt. Guess the old fashioned guthook is the best for large animals. Althoug the pikal dident meet expectations as a advanced guthook, it's an awesom necker that hasn't get dull yet :D

Gomle,

Did you take any pics? Sorry to hear that the Pikal did not meet the expectations of being a guthook. But as you already knew, it wasn't designed for that purpose. Did it at least function like the zipper knife for the main body like the video you showed me?
