Death Chat!!

Well, I liked parts of Central and Nor Cal but don't want to live there. The trip is a scouting trip for a possible relocation. The Seattle and Portland areas are on my list too. I like visiting when it's cold and gray. Get enough of the damn sun here in NM.

Seattle is awesome, went there on a business trip and enjoyed it a lot. The culture is similar to Norcal/Bay area. You have a large city with lots of greens surrounding the area. Weather is usually pretty gloomy year round too.

In Norcal, the weather has been erratic (not nearly as hot or rainy/cold as it usually gets during its respective season), but it's definitely cooler and gloomier in San Francisco (vs. the rest of the South Bay). Overall, I enjoy Norcal. I get to hit the beach and snowboard the same day if I wanted.

Gomle,

Did you take any pics? Sorry to hear that the Pikal did not meet the expectations of being a guthook. But as you already knew, it wasn't designed for that purpose. Did it at least function like the zipper knife for the main body like the video you showed me?

I have one lousy pic of the bt4 with some tenderloins we consumed. Next year will be pic heavy! :o

Ergos on the bt4 contestkife was great!

The pical did good along parts of the legs where the skin was thin. I think the consctruction was to high so it was hard to push under the thick skin. It cut as a lazer as long as the blunt tip went forward.

Your knives is the BOMB! The convex grind is also so easy to get back to shaving sharp with a strop.

This experience just makes me an even bigger fan of you.

thanks for the feedback gomle, good to hear some real field use stories. can't wait to take my BT knives outside the kitchen this fall/winter!

Well I woke up this morning and didnt feel like going. I came in here and saw no one wanted to go so I didnt have the motivation. I just jumped on my bike and went for a short ride.

Gotcha. Well, at least it was a nice weekend for a ride. Next time

Michele and I are planning on doing a quick trail run this saturday morning around 10am or so at the Sanborn Trail off Skyline Blvd right across from Castle Rock. It is a pretty easy 3.5 mile hike that takes about 2hrs round trip. I am thinking we can probably run the trail in about 1hr or so. You guys are welcome to join us. It would be pretty cool to hit up the Los Altos shooting range afterwards as it is only 1/2 down from the trail head. Unfortunately, I have to be back at home reorganizing some things and doing some clean up work after the run.

I'm out of town this weekend, otherwise i'd be down to join...although I need to get back in tip-top shape.

Seattle's nice, at least from what I saw when I visited. Love how green it is up there. Well, Niko, either location will get you out of the sun, that's for sure.

Gomle, sounds like you had a good experience using Ban's knives

it's finally raining!! that means that snowboarding season is coming back quick!! i've itching to get back on the mountains all year!

yo guys.. well, i was going to be going tonight, until the misses volunteered us to make dinner for a good friends birthday..:( not sure if and when i would be able to skip out.. i will look into it though.. they just moved here 3 days ago from San Diego..

now i read that there is going to be brownies and venison... i'm bummed..

If someone wants to bring rice that would be great and if someone else can bring plates and forks. I've got the main course covered and will bring the BBQ.

Mike sorry to hear you can't make it. We will be sure to take some pics of the food for you. :D

Mike, next time man! In fact, we have to check out your new digs :D

Carl, next time for you too!

If no one else can bring rice, I can make some. Call me and let me know.

I am at the shop and won't be able to make it home in time to cook rice. I have drinks, plates, forks, and spoons at the shop already.
