Okay hoopster,
How about bringing all of your skills to bear on making a slick IWB and/or pocket clip integrated sheath for the Izula! Please?
BTW, Lapp_Dance I'm going to try your rig tomorrow and see how it works. I was thinking of something like that but I couldn't figure out how to make it a "short pull"
I bought just the knife from one of BF's dealers. Here's what I do with mine:
For carry, it's in my front jeans pocket. I attached a loop of paracord through the large hole on the sheath (at the tip end of the knife). Then, using a Nite Ize S-biner (25# size) I attach the loop of paracord to a belt loop (the one near the watch pocket). To draw the knife, simply grab as normal, and pull. The paracord length is short, so upon the draw, the cord and S-biner stay put and the knife is in hand. Re-sheathing is a 2 hand operation though. The factory sheath is a snug "click" onto the Izula.
As something to keep in mind, if you soak your paracord in water for a minute before wrapping, and wrap it wet, when the cord dries it will snug up some more, causing an already tight wrap to become a very solid wrap.
use gutted paracord and you can get it pretty tight too....
I am gona be using the paracord that comes with the Kit. That good paracord?
yes siryou can also pull the inner strands out of it and make the para cord wrap tighter ...
really? will the water really make the grip tighter if i wet it before i wrap the handle?
Only impovement I could think of would be a sheath with a deep, pocket carry clip attached somehow. I think there'd be some buyers out here for that rig.
yes, the trick is to have the paracord wet, to the point of almost squeezing water out of it by pinching. you don't want it quite dripping wet. then wrap the handle as tight as you can without trying to overdo it, and when it dries, it will tighten up just a tad more, causing the wrap to be quite solid.
gutted paracord is easier to do a tight wrap with, since you're not fighting the elasticity of the inner strands of cord. it will make for a thinner grip as well, if you're trying to go for as low-profile as possible. non-gutted cord is still not very thick however.
be sure to show us what you come up with!
And I am one of them

Believe me, it will happen. I have 5 sheaths in line first, then I just need the time to start working on it. Probably be a couple of weeks.
