Deciding between 3 knives

Get the sebenza! I would recommend the micarta grips but I have a large CF scale version and it is just as awesome!

Thanks for the recommendation, but like I said I'm not going to get a sebenza yet, but will eventually. But for now the southard is my choice :)

A couple of things to keep in mind. First, you could stick nearly TWO Small Carbon Fiber Sebenzas in your pocket for the weight of the Southard. (The Small CF Sebenza weighs 2.3 ounces; the Southard weighs 4.1 ounces.) Second, the G10 scale on the Southard is pretty rough. Some people find that appealing as it provides a secure grip. Others, myself included, don't care for it. Nice thing is, there are a lot of available aftermarket scales if you don't like the stock scale. Here's an example of some custom scales courtesy of Greg (evilgreg):

If you want to play with it, ge the Southard. If you want to carry, use and forget about it, get the Sebenza. As others have pointed out, the Southard is bigger and the blade is much too thick. But its a flipper and fun to sit and play with. But if you truly want a user knife, then the Sebenza is the only choice of the two.

Again, I'm not going to argue with that statement. Of the knives the OP listed, the Sebenza is definitely the best of the bunch. Nor would I select the Southard if I decided to go for a flipper. For a little more than the price of the CF Sebenza, I'd buy a Rod Olson Quick Flick instead. (It's also exclusively available at Knifeart.com.)

Like I said I will get a sebenza, I just really don't want to spend the money for one yet.

I chose a small seb insingo for my first crk. Hands down my favorite all around edc. Easy to take down and clean, very high fit and finish, and a long proven track record. May cost a bit more but your getting all ti and it will hold it's value.

Never handled a southard but I have been interested in one. I've heard good things about it so it seems like you can't go wrong with either one.

BUT, like others have mentioned, you need to try a sebenza if your a knife fan, maybe not now but one day.

From my own experience this thing will play out as follows ...

1) Purchase Southard.
2) Wanting a Sebenza is like a constant rattle in my dash.
3) Look at Sebenza offerings on the Net day after day.
4) Sell the Southard at a loss to buy the Sebenza.
5) Start looking for the second Sebenza.

LOL!

I fought with this same problem for weeks, myself.

I really thought that I was finally going to break down and buy a Sebenza. Then I came across the Southard and took a liking to it. I bought one and have enjoyed the heck out of it. It was my first flipper and I found out that I love to play with flippers!

I liked it so much that I decided to retire my Pacific Salt work knife for one. I purchased a ZT 0566 cause the price was right and I was curious about the brand. Wow! I am now certain that I will be adding more ZT knives to my small collection. Especially, any new variants of the 0566. This thing is awesome! Beefy but slender, and opens with authority. I like the AO feature on this knife. Much different than flipping the Southard, but equally incredible.

I still want a Sebenza, but since I suffer from the "pistolwants virus" as well as my knife addiction, it may be some time before I spend $400 on a knife, no matter how awesome it is.
