Oh those fabulous little containers made by the military for campers to use. I use them for my fire kits, to hold my camera, all kinds of things. What do you use 'em for? Does anyone have those fancy blue ones?

I've been around, just working and laying low. I've been thinking of going to Pilot Mountain to mess around today. What are you getting into?

I use them to protect .22 rounds for my Ruger single six, a Bic lighter and dry tinder. Works great.

i love those decon containers... i have a few and have been using them for years...

here's a small fire kit i made.. it lives in my B.O.B. pack...:)

i like your wire tie on the lighter, good idea. does is slid off or do you have to cut it?

I like the look of those things. Are they completely waterproof? Does the lid lock on securely?

They are waterproof, the lids fit on like a bank vault door. I've got several of these containers. One contains a very compact yet well stocked survival kit. It is wrapped in Gorilla Tape to the extent it fits very snugly inside a Swiss army surplus metal canteen cup. I bring it with me quite a bit whether hiking or travelling. I've found that I'm less inclined to bring stuff along that is bulky or otherwise a bother, so the compact size pays off.

I've seen em used a geocache containers in the past. I've seen them at milsurp places but never picked one up, maybe next time I run into them I'll grab one.

Thanks, x39. I'll have to pick some up; I can think of a number of uses for those.

thanks... it's a small zip tie.. it's on there snug, but not too tight... it just slides up and off... i can cut it if needs be...
i do that on all Bic lighters i put in kits..:)

Best darn soap containers in the world also. Perfect size for a bar of irish spring. No leaks and no worries about soap getting all over your gear inside your hygene bag.

I haven't seen one for a while. The blue ones would be for training purposes, IIRC.
