Deep carry - Help me out here

I relate to the op not a fan off deep carry clips they are more difficult to pull the knife of of my pocket so generally I change them out to a standard clip. Im in nyc everyday and 99% of the time im carrying a Benchmade with a split arrow clip and not person, cop, or security guard says a word or does a double take. I’m guessing they’re just not into me! But honestly in my opinion if someone sees a clip deep or standard they know what it’s attached and they aren’t as affected by it as most think.

I didn't know replacing deep carry with normal was even an option... Where can I get these aftermarket clips? I'd love that!

Love deep carry, love wire clips. If I'm wearing jeans I use a knife with a thin black deep carry clip so it's not noticeable. Khakis get the deep carry wire clip because it's less noticeable in terms of contrast and people dont associate it with a knife.

Everyone has their preferred aesthetic and this one is mine.

For all you guys that don't care if your knife is visible, why don't you carry a fixed blade ?

I've never had issues with people noticing me carrying a folder or a fixed blade, in CA that is. Still, I prefer deep clips, or no clips at all.

I do occasionally carry a small fixed blade on my belt along with my usual folder. Not many folks around here think twice about a biker type with a small belt knife. If they do comment it’s usually along the lines of nice knife where can I get one like that?

That being said while I’m at work I prefer a folder instead. Too much of a hassle with it in the way. getting in and out of cars, crawling under stuff. I like to have one around, I have a custom fixed blade in one of my tool boxes but at work I only carry my folder.

I have a Benchmade and Spyderco normal carry clips that I removed. Pm me which you want and an address and you can have a couple.
Thank you very much! That's very kind of you and I greatly appreciate that. But I'm good on the Spyder/Bench front. What I need is a non-deep clip for the Kershaw Livewire, and I think the only way I'm going to get one is to machine new holes in it

I like deep carry clips because I feel like the knife is deeper in the pocket making it more secure, and I personally have not experienced any problems getting mine out of my pocket, but I could see where it could hinder "easy access"
I have both styles and they are all ok with me, but I do hate it when a knife sticks an inch or more out of your pocket. I have had some that sat so high they were gouging my belt when I sat down.
As far as wire clips, I have found I really like them as well because they do not shred my pockets like the flat clips do.

So far, I haven't been able to tell if I even have a preference, other than the compulsion to attach a fob to the ones that I've found more difficult to pull. And of course, if I'm playing with paracord I might as well try a fancy knot and slip a flashy bead on. Thus, the concealment advantage is lost on me.

This is just my opinion which just like my humor is often times trash.

To me, knife people or at least people that know knife people see either style of pocket clip and know it's a knife. Non knife people either don't even see the clip or if they do see the clip they don't even register it as a knife clip.

But if most anyone sees the chunk of knife sticking up then unless they are completely clueless they see knife and they think knife.

The only addition to this is I also try to always swap out the super polished chrome plated looking clips. The Spyderco spoon style clips that come crazy shiny to me are the worst. I usually swap them out with (of course deep carry) stone washed or some kind of blackened finish. I don't need a little star burst on my pocket.

All this is just for me and is my explanation on a tiny but of what makes a Bob. It's certainly not why I think anyone should do anything.
