Deep carry hotspots?

you bring up a good point, i have medium sized hands. im not too too picky about comfort, but i dont like an uncomfortable knife. ill probably buy the clip then try it out.

Never been a problem for me. Folding knives as far as I am concerned are carried for convenience and rarely used for anything "hard". I doubt I will get a hot spot in a day of using my knife three times to cut open a clamshell pack, some string, and open a letter.

In the woods I will have a fixed blade with a comfortable handle.

This ^^^ pretty much sums up my situation, except that my use of fixed knives isn't limited tot he woods - but anyplace where serious and/or prolonged use is anticipated. but I suspect that's what collim1 meant anyways.

For me, the folder is the blade of opportunity - most accessible thing for the moment's need.

The only time I had a real bad "hot spot" was with the Kershaw Thermite, but only in tip-down configuration. The clip dug right into my bone. It was so uncomfortable I couldn't use it until I switched the clip.

PS. Can someone open a window and let some of this innuendo out?
