Deep carry / low ride titanium clips for Spyderco - Delica, PM2, Manix, etc. - Run #3

Would you suggest a long clip or the shortie for the Dice? I'm not sure if the shortie would interfere with the locking mechanism.

I ordered the shorter clip for my Dice.

I've seen one photo with the shorty on a Dice. The pressure point appears to sit half on/half off the lock cutout. I don't think it will press on the lock portion you press out, if fact it may prevent you from over-extending the lock when releasing.

Will post photo and let you know when mine arrives.

Hi Baz - I suspect the shorty would work better, but I haven't tried it on that knife first hand. If you don't like it, I'll swap it out for a long one or refund you.

The Southard clips are on my list... here is what I have in the hopper right now...

PM2 scales are done. They'll be available in ti with a Chris Reeve-ish finish, and hard ano aluminum. The ti ones will be $120 with clip for a set, aluminum $80 with clip. They turned out really good. But fyi, the ti set is really solid - about 1 oz heavier than the G10 the knife comes with (G10 is so light!). So I know that could be a deal-breaker for some people. Just finalizing some details, then I'll post pics.

The BM clips are designed - I'm just waiting on my CAD guy to digitize them so I can get them cut.

I have some ti pry bars being machined that I think will be be pretty cool, made with .165 grade 5. There will be a couple unique things about them that I haven't seen on other pry bars.

The Delica scales are what I'm most excited about... those will be done in a month or so, I hope.

I also have Mini Grip scales in ti, as well as 'danglers' in ti that are in the last stages of design.

I put a short one on the Dice. The knife does kind of get hung up on some pocket hems, but it's not that bad. It definitely does not hit right on the cutout, it hits flat a little less than 1/4" farther down the lockbar. It fits much better than the long clip, IMO.

I strongly recommend against the shorter clip for the Dice. You can see my pic of the long clip installed on the Dice on the previous page of this thread. I have the long clip on my Domino as well and wanted to have the shorter clip match the smaller Dice, and it interfered with proper operation of the lock bar (it was very difficult to disengage the lock when the blade was deployed). I know the long clip looks a bit too long for it, but it works great and gives your hand a nice rail to ride (ergos are great).

Casey, hate to ask this, but ay chance for a clip size midway between your short and long current versions? I bet a clip that was just a smudge longer would work great on the Dice.
 
Many thanks Casey clip arrived and all is grand, I decided to make mine match the blade a bit better so gave it some wire wool, scorch-bright and finished with Autosol, the pics sadly don't do it justice.

Hmmmm.... not sure how I doubled up on those pics, or how to delete them. Sorry!

The 6AL-4V titanium scales will come with a ti clip and are going to run $120. Please note that ti is denser than G10, so the ti scales add about an ounce to the knife. To be honest, you can really feel it, too! The hard-anodized aluminum ones (which are lighter) will come with a ti clip and run $80. I haven't figured out shipping yet, but it'll probably be around $6 or $7. I won't be ready to ship for another 2 or 3 weeks. If anyone is interested, just shoot me a PM and let me know.

I'll get more pics (with some detail shots) and specs up in a week or so.
