We hit Kentucky for a few days for the start of rifle season and we had a blast. Ended up with a few deer and lots of great memories. Got to spend some good times with friends which is really what it is all about.
Here's Beef giving Duece some hunting advice. Mentoring the first time hunter.

Here are a few pics of my deer from the hunt. Really happy with this one. Twelve points and weighted in at 220 pounds.

Now for the Elmax Steak knife report. We took one of the Elmax blades with us to use and see how it performed. Used it to skin, gut, and remove all the meat. All said and done the one blade finished off 9 deer and still shaved hair. After nine deer I figured it would need a bit of touch up but none was needed. The knife is still in Kentucky with Beef and Duece and they are starting deer 10 and 11 now and so far still going strong. This thing slices through deer like they are made of water. We really wanted to test it out and we got great results. The thin blade works great for skinning and slides along the bones perfectly for clean effective meat removal. Even cut up most of the roasts into steaks with the knife and got perfect straight clean cuts all the way. For one knife to completely process nine deer and still shave hair and paper with no edge touchup is really amazing. The Elmax Steak knife will more than hold its own when it comes to a hunting knife.

All in all it was a great trip. Hopefully we can make it down again before season is over. We will still be using the same Elmax blade if we got back just so we can see how many deer it can take before we need to give it a touchup. Pretty sure it has a lot more in it before then. Will try to get some more, better pics then as well.
