Missed opening weekend all together. Barb's dad is in Intensive Cardiac Care 100 miles away. Spent the weekend with them.

I'm off work this week, so I'm gonna be in the field.

My 1700 acres is still sitting untouched...... I was out on the TX opener for bow with my longbow, 70 degrees and swirling winds. I have a particular buck I've been watching since August-September and will have to bushwhack him. My plan B treestand is in my SUV as I type. Gotta get some does before my son is born in Jan....running my cams a solid year and the drought has been tough on the deer but plenty of fawns and of course hogs galore....killed 100 in the last 12 months.
 
Congrats to everyone who has had some deer blood on their hands, there are some pretty good looking Bambis in this thread. Good luck hunting everyone!
 
Great looking Bucks. I have three does in the freezer. Now it is time to see if I can get one of the monster bucks to come out and play.
 
Congrats all.

I got out Sat, Sun, Mon. for the WI opener. Saw four does and a couple little bucks but no shooters.
I can't think of a warmer opener and Monday it was in the 60 degree range. The woods were brown and crunchy a bit of wind too.:(
We're getting snow now so I'm looking forward to getting out again this weekend.
 
Hoping to fill one more archery tag this weekend before the lead starts to fly on Monday.
 
Stormed out on opening day. Went out, and got soaked and skunked. Today is sizing up the same. Nice bags on here so far, good luck to everybody getting out.
 
Well, I'm down to scoping neighbors yards with fruit trees. Pathetic, but if it puts meat in the freezer I'm OK with it. I am definitely hunting Eastern Washington next year.
 
We are in the middle of gun season here in Ohio. So far not much happening but still have a few days left then back to archery. Maybe today will be better.

The deer apparently got wind I was coming. Nothing has dared to come withing 250 yards of me. Shotgun/Muzzleloader only in Ohio to those of you lucky enough to live in rifle country.
 
I would love to be able to use a rifle in Ohio. I would have some very nice trophy's. :D

Remember...the reason OH, and IL have such monster dear is cause there is no rifle season:D

Granted you have genetics but if you don't believe Me look at Missouri where they shoot rifles:)
