Do you carry a knife for defensive purposes if so what is it... I do and i rotate the sog aegis, spyderco tenacious, and the spyderco manix 2 lightweight

So you carry knives with sub 3.5inch blades for defensive purposes?

What kind of training do you have?

I reserve the spey blade on my medium Stockman for defensive purposes. The main clip blade is used for food prep and I use the sheepsfoot for most everything else.

I carry a cheesy looking Katana around under my trench coat. Some think it's a little excessive, but it sure came in handy the day that british dude attacked me in the parking lot...

Why not just have it taped to your head at all times? That way you don't have to carry duct tape everywhere. It's a much more practical solution. Although, I'd rather use one as a codpiece to hump people to death.

Yes, a Stockman. I use the spey blade because it was designed for cutting flesh, in particular for castrating cattle.
Ok.

Well,if its taped to my head at all times i will never be presented with the glorious chance to use the other 2 equally awesome smatchets, those things are hard to come by you know.Humping people to death with a smatchet is a sophisticated idea, next time someone tries to mug me i will do so,thank you for the idea!

these threads are like car accidents... you know they are going to be horrible, but you look anyway. my favorite is the Dorito monk post about his Katana... i sincerely hope this is true. we need more tards in trenchcoats carrying highlander swords around.

I carry around a pen at all times... one time someone tried to give me crap, I whipped out the pen. He looked at me like wtf... then BAM! got him in the jugular. =)

Anything can be used as self defense... its not like youre not going to use a butter knife to defend yourself if you really had to.

It is one of the reasons I carry my CS Large Vaquero. Most people have never experienced violence outside of public school fist fights so take it into consideration. The ability to flip a switch and go from normal, loving person to primitive, ass-kicker is most important thing. Vicious knife or even screwdriver attacks can shut people down faster than most can imagine. If you are the victim a thug/predator looks for then you will freeze and be in denial that civilized society let this happen - people project their own fear and unprepared mindset onto you when they ponder it.

A lot like the frequent pepper spray suggestions in threads like this, talk to cops in big cities if it works on real predators or just mouth talkers/small time opportunists.

I used to carry a tac knife until I realized that my Bucklite can turn into a tac knife in a moments time.
All for $18. dollars.
