Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist - will the scales cover the scallops around the back end of the tang, or will they be exposed with the edge of the tang pulled back from the tips of the scallops? Third possibility, will the scales have the same scallops at the edge?

The jimping protrudes, however only .015". And they're chamfered and will be rounded some by the tumble. They will provide a little more traction but not at the risk of creating hotspots.

They exist because this is intended to be used as a stabbing weapon.
