DEK1

I can understand the situation ... and whatever you and the crew decide is best for CPK and the teams health. I do use many of my CPKs regulary ... I have carried an EDC2 almost daily since I got my first and it's like second nature to me to pick it up in the mornings. I admit I also have a couple CPKs that I have only used a small amount but I still enjoy them a lot.

That being said I may have time these days with being home more to try in a Friday sale ... but due to my connection out here in the boonies I rarely come close to the top 10. So maybe if a preorder is not a viable option ... you could have larger numbers of the DEK in your sales rather than just 10? That may give more than the fastest bunch a chance to buy. Just a thought from one guy.

I will respect whatever decisions you make in this troubling time. And I will still be a huge fan and supporter of your knives/tools.

Stay safe and heathy!

IMO, there are about 100 or so people who usually frequent the CPK sub, some dormant and in stealth mode who rarely post. Out of this guesstimated bunch, maybe there are 50 or so regulars with about half of them/us being as rabid fanatics who chime in here almost on a daily basis who will buy anything from CPK.

In view of the unusual current situation, all that Nathan has to do is to stiffen his FCFS sale policy when supplies are limited. No reason as to why proxies can not still be allowed as long as it is an honest attempt at proxying and no shenanigans like it had been rooted out in here in the early past. If Nathan can cook up 100-200 DEK1s if outside elements do not impede his progress, I'm certain that everyone who comes to the CPK subforum through BF.com will get ONE DEK1 to keep them happy, although if not optimal in terms of options or additional numbers, till Nathan can catch up and then decide as to how to proceed with preorders in 2021.

ETA: Let us say that things will get back to some form of normalcy in June 2020 and then Nathan gets ready to do DEK1 sales in July, that is 26 weeks till the end of the year. Even if Nathan defers Fridays sales to once every 2 weeks, that is 13 weeks and he's been able to do 10 units every other week if nothing else interrupts him, so that is ~130 units in 6 months.

I would be fine with 1 DEK1/person until supply exceeds demand, and then remove the limit.

I’d love to be in a situation where I could afford more than one, lol. I’m pretty stoked for this design and don’t mind the extra time the crew take to keep safe and stable. It also gives me time to pinch some more pennies so the Mrs. doesn’t notice the purchase lol

So you are waitin' stainless DEK1?
