A side by side comparison of the DEK (1?) with the FK2 would be a great point of reference. To me it looks like the EDC had a child with the FK2 and then the UF was there to deliver the baby! It doesn't look quite like a pure spear point but since the point is dropped, from what I can see, it reminds me of a spear point so I don't know how a wedge will look but it is an interesting idea

For me, yes. I have read some indications of increased edge retention as well. I also haven't tried it before which is a plus.
