Thank you to all involved on making these incredible knives happen 🇺🇸

That looks great! Might be too risky for me to order one because of that thin swedged spine. Something with NY and double-edged knives/daggers or smthg silly. Folks in other states will have to enjoy this one for me!

It ain’t sharpened ya nanny! Buy what you want and be responsible with it, I‘m gladly going to enjoy mine, I think it’s going to make a great hunting knife around these NY woods.

I'm extremely curious about how the DEK3 compares to the DEK1. Everyone seems to really praise the DEK1 for versatility and slicing ability, while still being durable.
It seems like the DEK3 would be better at slicing due to the thinner profile. The question is, how much durability will decrease due to this. I'm also thinking that the DEK1 may perform some tasks better due to its more rounded belly.

I just purchased a DEK3 and I'm awaiting its arrival, but I can't help but wonder if I'm not going to prefer a DEK1. The Scrim Reaper might even knock both out of my line up. Time will tell!

Aren't we so lucky/blessed to have so many great options? Gotta love CPK!

I get the impression the DEK1 does everything well but you can still break it if you try and it doesn’t cut as well as it could if it was solely optimized for that. the DEK2 is the most durability possible in an EDC format that still cuts well, and the DEK3 is version optimized for cutting but gives up some durability….if you like car analogies, the DEK1 is a Jeep Grand Cherokee, the DEK2 is a Toyota Hilux, and the DEK3 is a WRX. Sure you can fit a couple people and your golf clubs in all three and they’ll all do 65 miles an hour and not fall apart if you hit a pothole but the DEK2 is going to go a lot slower at the racetrack and the DEK3 is going to suffer if you try to take it any further off-road than gravel.

Yeah. Agreed. I've owned the DEK1 before. I think you'd have a tough time breaking it without really trying hard. It's pretty robust.

I don't think the DEK3 will be a piece of glass or anything, but I would expect it to take more damage than the DEK1 in rough use scenarios.

The biggest problem is that you really can't go wrong with any of the DEKs! It's a good problem to have!

I would not intentionally abuse my DEK1. But I do think it can handle a lot of abuse. I would baton with it if needed, not likely that I would need to. When I get my DEK3 I will edc it and use it for any cutting task within reason. I’m not gonna baton with the Dek3 or pry with it. Unless I’m in a knife or death scenario. I’ll just use it as a knife. I bet it will perform amazingly in that role.
