Basing this off the pre-order post: 6.2oz (DEK1) vs 4.8oz (DEK3).

I would not intentionally abuse my DEK1. But I do think it can handle a lot of abuse. I would baton with it if needed, not likely that I would need to. When I get my DEK3 I will edc it and use it for any cutting task within reason. I’m not gonna baton with the Dek3 or pry with it. Unless I’m in a knife or death scenario. I’ll just use it as a knife. I bet it will perform amazingly in that role.

I agree on all points. I think the DEK3 is a great addition to the lineup.

Just received my DEK 2 & 3 and all I can say is WOW!!! Love them already!!! Can’t wait to get them in rotation, will probably have one in each pocket tomorrow at work

Yes sir. Top to bottom is DEK1 with green Terotuf scales, DEK2 with grey Terotuf scales, DEK3 with black linen micarta, all three are 3V steel.

It is incredibly light and slicy. It’ll make a great skinner and kitchen knife.

They're not all like that. My DEK1 has the maker's mark at the DEK2 location. I've seen one or two other photos recently showing the same. I think the earlier production ones tend to have it lengthwise.

no one on this globe will break a DEK1, and I suspect the same could be said for DEK3

This has to be my favorite CPK right now. The unsharpened spine looks perfectly even and is only a few thousandths thick. I could sharpen it in a couple minutes.
The final bevel along the main edge is small due to how thin the hollow grind is. It has more like the weight of a folder in hand. This will be #1 carry for a while.

Maybe if the signature and logos were cut a little deeper it might get the weight down to spec… Don’t do us like that!
